I realized you guys might not check my tumblr and twitter religiously, so I'll also post the minis you guys are funding to the actual Patreon page!
They'll all be these little dumb things, kind of a fun break for me from all my other stuff. Maybe eventually I'll get a dedicated page for them all on JSPH. Thank you all so, so much for this, you're so good and great!
(also, I'll be figuring out these livestreams soon, then we can all hang out while I draw nonsense)

Haha I probably should have checked if they were wallabies but they were quite small, so I assume they were wallabies?
The emus, kangaroos and these small maybe-wallabies were all in a big open area where they can walk right in front of you if they want. The emus were huuge and also did not give a shit about us being there.
Emus are so mad

This kangaroo had a joey in its pouch!! Also was super duper close, everything in the Melbourne Zoo is really fearless when it comes to humans.
Giraffes are super fascinating to me. They are probably the most unique and bizarre megafauna we have left, there really isn't anything else like them. I didn't care much for them until I saw one in real life and suddenly realized how cool it is that this strange thing exists!

As promised, I'm also posting some of the highlights of my zoo sketches!
I was so, so surprised by the snow leopard. I had been to zoos that had one or two, but they hated the limelight and would stay well hidden, but this one was about fifteen feet away from where I stood, looking just AMAZING.

I posted a bunch of files earlier but now they are all in one convenient spot! Here is a PDF with all 12 sketch pages for you, and I'll also post a few of the best pages to Patreon directly.
Some of the sketches are a liiittle shitty but many of them look really nice. The Melbourne Zoo was INCREDIBLE. Oh yeah and if you didn't know, I've been a little behind on work lately because I am in Australia right now. But I still love you all and think of you always

OoooOOoooOOOOoooOOOOoooo, spooky Halloween JSPH! A preview of a true story from my childhood. Or at least, this is how I remember it going. The rest will be up maybe later tonight or tomorrow on JSPH!

Here's a page from tomorrow's TLH! It's so rare that I have anything done before midnight the night of. That's what happens when you upload a ton of stuff every week, you're always working and never have anything saved up!

The first chunk of tomorrow's comic! I hope I can finish it by tomorrow, I still have a lot of work to do.
My professor really likes rocks. And just in case you were wondering, mashed potatoes with dirt in them, even if it is basically powdered dinosaur dirt, are not very good. But it is pretty cool to know I have ingested dinosaur dust

So we're coming upon another monster in The Last Halloween-- this one is tricky to design! These designs might be a bit hard to understand, but maybe they'll make sense when you see it in action. It's your standard mound of flesh
AND WE MADE IT TO THE FIRST GOAL! Livestreams are now a thing!! I'll let you know when one happens
Sorry I keep taking bad photos of stuff in my sketchbook, my scanner doesn't do good scans of my pencils!

This is a small part of next week`s JSPH! It`s gonna be a long one. I know I`ve written comics about my dino adventures before, but I thought this time I`d share more boring details. Everyone loves boring details!!
Whoops I forgot to shade in his hat in that one panel

In case you wondered what stages TLH goes through, here's what a page looks like throughout the process! The first is rough pencils, where I block out where the characters and speech bubbles will be. Then come the hard pencils, where I flesh it all out, and the first round of inking, after which I erase all the pencils from underneath the ink. Then I add detail inks and some blacks, and fill in the rest of the blacks on the computer, giving you the comic you see online!

This is what the first round of inks looks like! These are the inks I lay down before I erase the pens, then after erasing, it goes on to the finished stage that you guys see in the comic.

This is a badly lit photo of what my sketched-out roughs look like! For JSPH, sometimes it is line for line what the final inking is gonna be, but sometimes it's just a vague sketch that I have to figure out while inking.

This is what my JSPH layouts look like. That strange scribbly stuff next to the panels is a script, also what my lowercase handwriting looks like, which is why I always write in uppercase. This is how the first draft of the original Last Halloween script was written out, in tiny scribbles in my sketchbooks, which is not actually a great system and I do not recommend it
