Swoon it is June! It does not feel much like summer though. It has been unseasonably cold, rainy and damp here :(

Swoon!! It's June!!!

We did it! Another month come and gone.
I am delighted to share a full clip of a performance from the previous weekend in Syracuse, NY.

Here is our 4th Combination/Drill video. I hope you have enjoyed these and found them helpful to your learning.
Once again we are using a maksoum rhythm. This time though we will only be using 2 moves in the drill in hopes of the goal being to keep time with the music.

Here is our 16th DDT !
This time we are looking at maintaining (hopefully, or at least aiming to) that cleaner technique and control while increasing speed/power/stamina.
We will have the option of nvolving weight at the end of this drill so keep your hand weights/medicine ball nearby.
Our next DDT, DDT #17 coming at the start of June will involve some floor work so have knee pads or a yoga mat handy come June:)

It's time to undulate!
Got a request for an undulation/abdominal based drill.
It's easy to forget how quickly we can fatigue our abdominals with belly rolls, undulations and other abdominal isolation and when we get fatigued we lose quality of movement (me included) which is all the more reason to pratice them often. So here is the first of probably many focusing on that topic.

Here is our 3rd cool down and stretch follow along video which is great to do at the end of tour dance practices.
Remember when stretching to not extend beyond your body's current range and comfort. Stretch gently and listen to your body and remember to breath deeply.

Here is our 3 combination/drill video for Introductory belly dance.
This time we are using a Maksoum rhythm. Our first 2 we used a Baladi rhythm.
This rhythm track is called

This one is 27 minutes of continued dancing covering movements from tutorials 1 through 10.

This practice drill alternates between vertical and horizontal plane hip movements and chest movements to help create clarity between our minds and bodies and help develop muscle memory.

Here is our first Combination/Drill Video for Introductory Belly dance.
We will repeat the sequence as follows:
4 pelvic/lower abdominal lifts
4 chest lifts
4 shoulder rolls
4 omis/interior hip circles
