SURPRISE!!!
OK, I know you're not surprised but could you at least ACT surprised?

NOW some (many?) of you are guessing (correctly) why this pictorial's title ends in "of Terror".

Oh ye of little faith! Did you truly believe Marshal Henderson was down for the count?

Looks like Marshal Henderson is completely defeated, isn't it?

I'm still fighting against the render engine's peculiarities and refining the shader but this is my new way to depict fluids. No postproduction retouch, rendered "on camera". Finally physically realistic reflection and translucence.

Don't you hate it when you can't take your time to do things at their proper pace because you're in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I'm pretty confident Lara will just grab the idol and leave the place without further complications.

This picture serial is going to be more sequential, the actual story will be shorter but it will be told through more images. So it will have a higher posting frequency, moreso at the beginning.

New serial. Lara Ryder is back and, to quote a now classic trilogy, monsters are back in the menu, boys!

Still tweaking things as I go. I keep trying to get a slightly shiny skin shader balanced between single and multiple point lighting as you can see here. I'm ALMOST there.

And Dr. Strong is somewhere out there...

The term "replidroid" is used on the 1985 Blade Runner game for 8-bit computers by CRL. I always thought they wanted to make easier for the player to chase and kill droids if they aren't supposed to be the fully human ones of the movie. Besides the homage I'm using it to imply a more terminator-ish type of androids that, while being confusingly organic like the originals, are more straight villains.

Sometimes showing how characters move coming close to each other just drags the action down and you must cut that movement. If you do it right the action flows and remains visually understandable.

Good 'ol training beats cyber enhancements. The fight sequence was intended to be longer but I think enough is enough (for now, anyway).

Another test render.
If you could zoom you'd notice Henderson and Tanaka's panties have their different Marshal Serial Number on the back.

Adapting scenarios and creating more characters for future appearances.
I was thinking of give this Marshal a referencial last name. One from a creator like Otomo or Mishima. But "Tanaka" is so classic a Japanese villain name (on Western media) and sounds so good that even she being a hero I had to use it to name her. The body proportions may look weird but it's because she's very short and there's no one else there for reference.

Finally I decided to switch to Superfly on this serial, even as it has no more than three posts left. Any challenge I met here I won't have to face on the regular comics (like those fluids). You'll notice the dungeon doesn't look fully OK (displacement maps don't cause glitches on Superfly but they were easier to work with on Superfly) but as it won't appear again I didn't put as much work on updating it as I did with the characters.
(and yes, Tess was a bad person before, I love the i...

Also had to find a way to render blood. The fluid props are good for most fluids but hue of shader is important. Nothing is as off putting to me from 70s horror flicks as that garish tomato red blood. I know real blood is quite bright and saturated but I like fictional one to be thick and dark.
