I met my pal Ryan McCaffrey when he started working at IGN in 2012, and we quickly became good friends. I wanted to invite him on Fireside Chats not only to discuss our days together at the world's biggest video game website, but to dive deep into his love of dogs, and my fledgling love of pups, too. His two Boxers -- the sadly deceased Maggie and the new baby Daisy -- have filled his life with love and joy, as has Lola in my life. That's what this podcast hinges on, and I hope you enjoy the ...

Hey All,
First off, Happy Belated Easter and Passover. I hope you are all doing fantastic, and that you had a great weekend.
Today, I'm excited to reveal the next round of topics for KnockBack, CLS' newest podcast dedicated to all things retro. The feedback we've been receiving on the show has been awesome, and your support has been much appreciated. Thank you so much for giving us a chance with this one. I'm pleased to hear that it's becoming many people's favorite CLS show!
Hey All,
As always, I hope this week’s update post finds you all very well! If you’re curious about that awesome art above, well… we’ll get there shortly.
For starters, let’s point towards this week’s new content, in case you missed any of it.
Here are this week’s new shows!
Last month's Patreon-exclusive podcast was an episode of Fireside Chats, so this time around, I thought I'd do an episode of KnockBack!
Today, I brought my best friend Ramon out of the bullpen to discuss a beloved movie trilogy from our childhood: The Mighty Ducks! We watched all three movies in sequence, and stopped in between each movie to record our thoughts.
I present to you these unnecessarily extensive and surprisingly deep thoughts on The Mighty Ducks. Enjoy.
On today's episode of KnockBack, Dagan and I veer back into the realm of video games, and reach back toward one of our absolute favorite consoles: The NES. With a ton of games in its library, it makes sense that some titles would go underappreciated, unnoticed, or underrated. This podcast is dedicated to the latter, specifically: Underrated NES games -- well-known or otherwise -- that don't get the love they deserve.

Kristin Wong is an expert in personal finance, and her new book -- Get Money -- is an ode to how anyone can grapple with money, even if it seems daunting. So naturally, Kristin and I sat down for a conversation all about cash. How should you spend your money? How do you save? What do you do with credit cards, bills, and other impediments to financial growth that stand in your way? Whether you love personal finance (like me!) or are new to the game, you're going to learn something listening to...

I hope this week’s update post finds you all very well!
For starters (and as you likely already know), this was a really big week in Colin’s Last Stand’s history, as CLS officially turned one! If you missed the celebratory post, you can read that here. Thank you all -- from the very bottom of my heart -- for taking this journey with me. What a ride!
Otherwise, content has ...

In the late '80s, Dagan and his friend would venture to a monthly comic book convention at a Long Island Holiday Inn, where a lone merchant would sell mysterious video tapes from Japan for $30 apiece. These tapes were full of cartoons that he'd never seen or heard of before, and it was at this point -- earlier than all but the best-connected and absolute nerdiest westerners -- that Dagan was introduced to anime. The rest, as they say, is history. This podcast is all about Dagan's origin story...

“Do you think we can get them to shut it off?”
It’s a quote my lovely girlfriend Erin still brings up from time to time when reminiscing about Colin’s Last Stand’s launch on March 20, 2017. My goal was to reach 1,000 Patrons in a year (by today, March 20, 2018) -- a goal I actually figured was far too aggressive -- but I ended up with six times that level of support after a week or so. I was so scared that I was literally seeking out if there was a way to freeze everything, so t...
As the moderator of the popular Rubin Report, a much-sought after public speaker and debate moderator, and a political firebrand, Dave Rubin is one of the busiest and most active people I've ever met. He's also a good friend of mine, and has been a tremendous force for good in my own development as a political personality, YouTuber, and podcaster. Today, Dave and I sit down for more than 100 minutes to chat about politics, about his show, about his personal life, his ups and downs, and much m...

Hey All,
Welcome to the first CLS Weekly Update! I’ll be posting each Friday afternoon (PT) in order to catch you up on various happenings and issues of importance pertaining to Colin’s Last Stand from the previous seven days.
Most (if not all) of you are profoundly busy individuals, just like me, and I know you don’t have the time or inclination to be constantly plugged into the content you like to consume (and the creators you kindly support). So consider this your CLS One Stop S...

When I launched the podcast series CLS: KnockBack some weeks ago, I simultaneously altered some of the perks you can receive for supporting Colin's Last Stand here on Patreon. One of the more significant changes came to the $50/month level, which used to net you a handwritten note or postcard from yours truly every 30 days or so. I still want to do that every now and again, because it's a fun way for me to keep in touch with my most hardcore Patrons. But I wanted to change things up, too, so tha...

From 1982 through 1994, G.I. Joe took the toy world by storm, introducing an extensive line of action figures, a never-ending comic book run, multiple TV series (and a full-length movie), and much more into the lives of kids the world over. It just so happens that Dagan and I share a deep affinity for all things G.I. Joe, and wanted to dedicate an episode of KnockBack not only to the Joe toys, comics, and cartoons (and our many memories surrounding it all), but to other '80s toys that dominat...

The buzz around cryptocurrency is growing louder with each passing day, which is incredible since the buzz has been audible for awhile now. But it's a confusing and unusual world, one I don't quite understand. So I invited Reilly Smith onto the show to explain his craft to me. Mr. Smith works for LBRY, a crypto company with an interesting directive. I think you'll learn a lot listening to this episode of Fireside Chats. I sure did.

There are few properties in nerdom Dagan and I love more than The Twilight Zone, the classic late '50s-early '60s television show that spawned generations of televised sci-fi, including the beloved Black Mirror. Today's episode starts with the Twilight Zone, but it doesn't end there. Instead, we walk you through our favorite episodes of the show before pivoting to other fiction -- from Ray Bradbury to JRR Tolkien (and much more) -- explaining how, why, and where we drew inspiration from some ...

Allow me to present Tiana Lowe. Tiana is the co-host of the podcast The Political Pregame, a writer at The National Review, and the Founding Editor of both the USC Economics Review and The Tab at USC, with work appearing in the New York Times and the Washington Post, and on Fox News and Reason. Oh, and she does all of that while studying economics and mathematics (she's only 22!). On today's episode, we discuss Donald Trump, conservatism versus liberalism in America, the degradation of educat...

On today's all-new episode of CLS: KnockBack, Dagan and I discuss the ever-growing retro game collecting scene. Dagan is an avid and dedicated collector of old games (particularly NES, SNES, Famicom, and Super Famicom), and has tons of insight and lots of interesting stories about what it's like being a collector these days. This is a really fun and lively episode, and I hope you enjoy it.

Today's guest on Fireside Chats is Jono Pech, an Australian podcaster and author with an optimistic outlook on life. In our nearly hour and a half conversation, Jono and I touch on his positive, work-centric podcast, what it's like to be a published author (he released a novel last year), and how hard work doesn't always pay off... but that it often does.
And, yes. We talk about Australia and gun control, too.
