Well hello there, fellow pervs! Newman here with our first official Progress Report.

We couldn't do it before, not a really comprehensive one. We didn't know if the game was going to follow the really cool ideas we had for the mechanics, the story, combat, lenght... We just couldn't know if it was doable yet. We didn't know if you guys would support us... The game is really ambitious guys, and I have learnt the hard way not to get too excited bef...

New background

 Hey there fellow kink-people! Newman here.

I spent an absurd amount of time making this background :D Sometimes you work on a scene or a character and it seems like everything clicks straight away, but this wasn't the case! Well, it's finished at last, so it's all good.

Personally, can't wait for the whole high-school to get blown up to bits during the Incursean invasion. And before you ask, hehe, yes. That means Attea is in the game ;)

Reworked basement background

There you go! Newman here with a polished version of the basement that you could see in the demo for the first time.

You can see a few details around that won't be present the first time you enter here. The cameras are a gimmick we are playing with. Are they spy-cams to spy on characters without being seen? Maybe more importantly, do they have a record function?...

And what do they say about vending machines and secret doors again? :-)

I'm going to the Angoulême Comic convention!

For a few days (4), I'll be gone.

I leave the confort and safety of my PC (let's be honest, I'm attached to the damn thing) and I leave for France in a bus, during no clue how many hours, with a bunch of crazy talented comic and illustration artists, to see what's cooking in the European comic scene.

I have my tablet and I'll keep writing a bit for Ben X, but I might not answer on Discord, to your comments and all that.

The black-market-dealing, stolen-part-delivering, car enthusiast manly man is back! Hate him or love him he was too much an important part of Ben and Gwen's life to leave it out.

With every indie project I start there's always that one guy.

That guy (or girl) loves the project to bits. He or she has maybe seen a pic somewhere, or a video, or has been to a convention I was talking at, or has met me and has prodded my brain with THE question. The only one that matters, the crucial one, THE question.

Charm's Ass Redux

Hey guys and gals!

I realise I haven't posted anything in a while, but things are hectic at the Newman's mansion right now.

Lots of work, new sexy girlfriend and job searching haven't left me too much time to paint backgrounds and write for Ben X. 

In a week or so I'll have more time to really push forward with the project, and Kdot keeps adding stuff to the game, so don't panic :-)

We still love the game, we still keep at it. Here's hoping we can work faster from...

Barcelona Games World

Incredible 4 days at the Barcelona Games World.

Met lots of amazing indie devs with really original concepts, learnt about a few cool plugins I need to have a look at, made a lot of interesting and potentially beneficial connections, painted one of my characters in front of everybody wit my trusty Cintiq... and had a really good time with old dev friends. 

Next stop, the Barcelona Manga convention! :-)

The demo doesn't have them, but to prepare for the real thing, I wanted to try to do a bigger image, so I chose a simple scene and started drawing and painting.

I want to give a special feel to the big scenes, so I'm using more complex rendering, instead of just using flat colors and a bit of flush. That said, I can't go too crazy, since it needs to fit with the character portraits.

Organization vs Chaos

Hey there fellow pervs, Newman here.

I figured out a way to work on both my animation job and this game at the same time. The idea is to ditch my normally chaotic night time working hours (they weirdly match Kdot's AUS time... which is probably a bad thing as we are on opposite points on the globe) and replace them with a new schedule.

I now wake up, run for a few minutes in a park near my flat, have a shower, a coffee, and organize my day using a tasks app. It sounds horrifying at...

It has been a really productive week, even though I've had to work on another project, earn a living and clean the flat a bit. It's working in a project you enjoy that does it really, and not having a boss that has received "figures" or "statistics" that suddenly turn an honest-t-god fuckfest of a game into a Clash of Candies clone, designed to rip people off.... Ah well. It might just be fun to write about undulating hips, what do I know?
