After 2 long days, I finally got the full toon downloaded! Check out screenshots of what we got scanned. The tint on this is all original!

The Runaway - Red/Orange Tint!

If you recall, we stumbled across a beautiful 35mm print of ‘The Runaway’ that had orange and red color tint on the film. Wanted to find out if this was an after effect or if it’s original. Turns out it’s always been there! We managed to get a 4K scan of it and it’s currently being downloaded. We used the Patreon funds to acquire this so big shout out to all of you for helping us.

The Copyrighted Popeyes

In case you didn’t know, most of the B&W Fleischer ‘Popeye’ cartoons are owned by Warner Brothers and the only known source material to these are kept under their control. If we were to find prints of the copyrighted Popeyes in the wild, we would still need to get their clearance to screen them in public.

Turns out we have access to a nice batch of 35mm safety negatives that we can scan via a private collector. This means that we can offer fans brand new 4K scans of ‘Popeye...
