[Blog] Quick Update #2

So, just a quick update to keep everyone informed about the direction of the Patreon in the coming weeks. Nothing super big; just trying to make progress towards our goals.

Today, I learned some info about a family member's health (potentially life-threatening). So, that means I need to prepare for additional trends downwards. I shall open commissions in July and try to schedule them into my general routine.

We've entered the 2nd half of 2021, so it's time to start making...

Priere, Maiden of Light

Inspired by THIS.

The use of colour is probably the most interesting thing in my work for people, while my lines tend to be loose and unimportant. Although I haven't changed the style of my lineart too much here, I did put a bit more attention to the rendering WITH the lines. Perhaps by making the lines more interesting, the colouring can be simpler.

[Concept] The Pirate Captain

The upcoming Dragon Breast one-shot comic will feature a small encounter at sea, and there will be pirates! The Pirate Captain, an orc woman, is the most important design to get right next to the Hero and the Dragon, since she'll be one of the main actors.

I just felt like doodling Shyarly from One Piece. I've never read/watched the story, so I don't have any real attachment to it, but I thought the character design was neat and she was an option on our recent voting poll.

[Concept] Elayne, Various Ages

Another bit of quick concept art (I say quick, but I spent hours trying to write the text part).

These designs aren't final, they merely represent the ideas of Elayne's growth. The armor design in the center is still in development, as I'm still not sure how it should look. I've been using red for the colour, but I'm unsure if that's the right move. Plus, that final design is just a alternate take on our usual outfit for Elayne.

I need to better research how armor...

Giga Mermaid
