Judgement - Elayne

Sometime last month I did a quick sketch of a red Elayne Beaumont inspired by Simon's design in Castlevania Chronicles, and it was suggested that I try doing a design that felt like it came out of Castlevania Judgement (that one fighting game with the Death Note artist).

Though that was a bit of a challenge -- how do I make Elayne look more like a bondage dominatrix than she already does? I suppose I opted for adding some visual noise to the design - some spikes and additional details. ...

A different type of expression

This is a fairly simple composition and still has some errors here and there - but that's okay.

I was so comfortable with the watercolour style that I could have sworn that I forgot how to do art in any other type of expression (haha), so I wanted to do something like this to remind myself.  I'd love to try using this approach for more of my work - especially stuff that I can let myself take longer on. I've been a big negligent when it comes to work the last few days, for which I apologize. I was feeling a bit down, and I was spending practically all of my day in Monster Hunter.

What is Dropbox?

Dropbox is a file hosting service that offers cloud storage, which allows users to upload files that can be accessed directly from the internet.

I use Dropbox to upload virtually ALL of my artwork at higher resolutions than I do on social media. It is also an easy, convenient way of viewing all of the work created during the year, with separate folders for every month.

RE2TG: Leon

Resident Evil 2 is releasing pretty soon. Again. It's a long-awaited remake.

Leon's always been a cool character, and making him a woman, while keeping almost every other physical trait the same, has made him slightly more cool to me. Or slightly hotter. One of those!

This piece is a slight bit on the rougher side in some bits, but this watercolour style works really well at making my sketches look finished enough, and they're often very efficient as far as the time I put in goes....

Elayne, The Morning Sun

I wasn't feeling so well, and neglected art all weekend, so I wanted to get SOMETHING out. Fortunately, it turned out well enough that I continued along with it -- and then we got this. I struggled with this a bit at first, but I got into a groove and it turned out well enough.

The composition of this is wider than it is tall, so I hope that means it'll look good on twitter. I greatly dislike how twitter will often cut off the top & bottom parts of the image.

[Concept Art Discussion] - Refining the Vampire Queen

The previous Concept Art Discussion pertained to Elayne Beaumont's design, so tackling her villainous foe, The Vampire Queen, seems like a natural step to take. This one's going to be a bit less analytical though. I've drawn the character a few times, but I've yet to feel truly comfortable with the design, so you may have noticed some drastic design shifts across the few pieces she's included in.

It's a Link

Around this time, last year, I introduced lapels to the collar of my Link's design, and I really liked how it looked -- it brought an element of flair to an otherwise simple design. I haven't done much with the idea since then, however. Just an assortment of drawings. So I figured I would bring the lapels back for this January!

[Patron-Only Feed] Into the New Year

So, first and foremost:

I've suggested so before, but I was pretty disappointed with my performance in December. It felt pretty bad early on, and that feeling consisted. We saw tumblr no longer welcome NSFW artists, and I burned out. Overall uncool.

I'm terribly sorry if I let any of you down. It's an awful feeling whenever that happens.

Red Cow

I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Online lately; mostly as though it were a single player experience, but it is still a beta, so there's a few bugs here and there, and some additional work to be done. Still, I have been enjoying my experience with the game. I drew my cowgirl.

Feelin' a bit off; I swear I forget how to draw every single month. I peeked into my Discord Server briefly after awaking, and I saw a suggestion for the idea of a Cat Elayne, so I'm deliverin' on that.

It's still been a pretty slow month, and perhaps I should just resign myself to that fact. The same thing happened last December. Perhaps I work myself too hard, though I'm not fully convinced of that. I worry that I'm not doing the best that I can to make Patreon enjoyable, but I think that feeling is holding me down a bit too much as of recent. 

I'm feeling a bit too stressed lately.

Signal Bee

Signal Bee, a tokusatsu-style bee superhero by Satellite 9. I'm a big fan of her work, so perhaps you'll consider checking her out. I really like Signal Bee, as I don't typically see a character with her aesthetic nowadays -- and she's kinda emblematic of Sat's great use of colour. Really appealing design.

Not Quite Unlocked for Smash yet...

Just a quick sketch from earlier today. Technically the first art piece I've created all month, so I haven't drawn in a few days.
