Amaranth doodles

Just some sketches of a character I seldom draw - Amaranth. I can't remember the last time I drew him... Let me check what the last uploaded image was... Ah, the last one was drawn in January, but it was during a day I felt super crappy and I just squeezed out a lame sketch. And I'm pretty sure the previous post before that was drawn long before it was posted - so maybe August.

This was a somewhat spontaneous sketch that wound up having more work done to it - I didn't plan to make an illustration out of it initially. Still, it's pretty cool, and I suppose, a bit different when compared to other stuff - still a bit rough, especially in non-essential areas, but not a colour scheme I use often- in fact, the saturation (or lack thereof) was a bit of a challenge.

WIP - Gale the Witch

Just a work in progress of ZoeStanley's Gale (who is a witch). Not sure if I'll make this a "finished" image, because I'm not yet sure how I feel about it - but it'd be nice to do so.

I'm liking some of the softer bits - and some of the harsher bits. But they don't really blend together very well as they are now. Might need to completely repaint the hat.

Satcatscot & Brellomascot Doodles

A fairly quick doodle I tossed together for my friend, Satellite 9. I'll probably post this online later today, but since you're super cool in particular, I'm showing you earlier! That's how this relationship dynamic works.

Sat draws a lot of cute characters and makes a lot of funny jokes on twitter - almost as funny as my jokes.

Jokes - Comic Sketch

A really doodly comic I sketched a few months ago - I sketched over and cut some of the useless panels out - though I might bring a panel back in, should I ever bring this further, because I think the first panel's got a little too much squished in. I don't think it's a particularly funny comic though.

Toph Heavy Bust

I coloured one of the sketches I quickly tossed together in the final moments of a stream earlier this week. I had difficulty being disciplined enough to draw today - I haven't fully gotten back on the wagon, I suppose. Still, colouring this was pretty accessible, and perhaps I can still get a bit more done later. It's nothing to call home about, but that's okay - not everything has to be an amazing work of art.

Assorted Sketches

Just some assorted sketches, done pretty quickly near the final moments of my last stream.

I'm planning to develop them a bit more - the idea was just as refined sketches, but there's some potential for finished illustrations in these too.

There's a brellomascot tangled in a phone cord, a Tiddy Toph, and Link stuck inside a Mimic Treasure Chest. I can see myself colourizing the Toph, but the Link and the brellomascot could make good illustrations.

Ranma Caught Fishing Doodle

I haven't drawn Ranma in a while, but there's recently been some interest in some Ramen.

Speaking of which - I've nurtured myself to naturally read Ranma as Ramen aloud... Every time I kept reading the Patron suggestions, I kept saying Ramen instead of Ranma... Dang it.

Ranma's pretty cool, though I have oddly not been exposed to too much of the franchise. I've seen a bit of the anime, and even then, there's a whoooole lot I never actually saw. I guess I have commitment issues with thing...

Spooky Poe Link

I streamed a bit earlier today for a few hours. Turned out alright, did a few things, though I would've liked to do more - I suppose I can't complain.

A patron definitely wanted to see another Poe Link, and it's definitely something I'd like to see more of, so I did it! It's neat to draw something a bit spooky too. It's definitely loose, and I might prefer to redraw the lantern, but it turned out nice enough.

Unused Patreon Ad Doodle

I spent some time today updating an old sketch I use in a patreon advertisement - with the intention of using it in today's advertisement. After getting it to this point, I decided it really just didn't work out - it was complicated and din't mix well wit the layout of art behind them. The simpler one stands out much better.

So I'm sharing it here with you guys.

I really enjoy that little bit of yellow reflective light going on near the back of the hair.

Reward Tier Brellos

Aaah, I actually drew something this month. Still nothing particularly large, and it took longer than I would've liked - but alas, it happens. These are the images that will go on the Rewards in the Sidebar. I think their contrasts could be adjusted a bit, but I suppose it's not too big a deal.

Patron Sketch Suggestion - February 2018

Hey, everyone! I'm sorry for my radio silence as of lately - I've spent the last 3 days thinking about Patreon, going back and forth, researching, and considering what's realistic for me. Touching Base: How am I doing? (also changes coming soon)

I'm getting ready to start making the changes to my Patreon; updating the reward tier information, page description, etc. I'm planning for the changes to be in effect at the start of February, which is just a few days from now.

January's been a bit of a creatively bankrupt month for me, and I don't think that's been very good for my Patreon performance. I'm generally better than this... I'm very sorry.

Landscape Doodle - Brush Fiddlings

Just a fairly quick environment-y doodle I tossed together. I technically should've used a reference, and you always should when you're playing with material you're unfamiliar with (like I am with environments), but I was just experimenting and playing around with a new brush. It's definitely a prototype brush, but there's some stuff there I kinda like - especially in some of the more sculptural bits. The strokes resemble a palette knife, kinda neat, but tricky to work with.

I apologize for the lack of uploads this week. I don't usually post so very little during the week. I've been feeling less than ideal as a creator, and I mentioned it briefly on social media spaces like tumblr. I don't plan to make a habit of this behavior, and I'll see if I can make up for it during the rest of the month.

A Question: Your feelings on Patreon email notifications

Are you annoyed by the daily email notifications from Patreon when I've uploaded sketches every day of the week? I'm of the mind that the prospect of daily sketches is the most appealing quality of pledging to me, but, since I don't know how many other Creators you're pledging to... and the more you pledge to... the more emails you receive. 

Just curious; I'm considering whether it's preferable to post sketches the day they're done, or perhaps instead collected and posted together at the ...

Req: Spooky Poe Link NSFW

Req - Fish Armor

I think I spent a bit too much time on the previous Patron Request/Suggestion. It's good enough as a work, though my whole purpose with the prompts were for them to be done pretty quickly. I think I'd generally like to get quicker in general with creating stuff though.

I've got some ideas and plans for a project or two to embark upon soon, with the hopes of finishing it in a few months. I'll probably talk more about that later!

Patron Request - Skimpy Mario Link

Here's the 1st Patron Request I've worked on (still not sure about calling it a request, but it's a lot clearer in idea), and it came out pretty neat. I'm liking the little touches of bright blue in the overalls/skirt; the highlights on the straps make them feel shinier than they realistically should, but it's a pretty stylish design choice.
