Greetings,
In today's edition, I examine the motivations of characters like Svengallop and Coloratura during "The Mane Attraction." This shows the different ways that we can lose ourselves by selling out as well as why people usually sell out in the first place. Sometimes it's because they're like Svengallop and only desire fame and money for their recognition. Sometimes, people like Coloratura buy into the image to get that recognition and usually it takes losing all of that to get them b...

I haven't wanted to bring divine retribution on a character this bad since Suri Polomare. Even then, I only despised her actions. Everything about this character's design, voice, attitude and actions seemed almost specifically set up to enrage me on multiple levels. At least I wasn't the only one though.
Furthermore, why does pop music in general think it's cool to take good musicians and turn them into utter dreck the way they do? First Lady Gaga. Now Coloratura? What's next!? Market them as ...

Greetings,
On the heels of the terrorist attack in France, which occurred the day before this episode aired; in today's episode, I examine how feuds like this get started and how it can grow into hate of such magnitude as what we saw that day in Paris, in other terrorist attacks as well as the smaller scale such as the examples I mention at the beginning of the video.
It's important to remember that vengeance for it's own sake will never accomplish its task. Violence begets more...

Why does this keep happening to me!? Perhaps I need to get my workaholism looked into.
Seriously, how does Discord think all the Apples look the same? I don't even know what type of foul to call on that. They're all a horse of a different color.
This was a strange episode, that's for sure. But I'm starting to believe that's simply the nature of Discord episodes. I enjoyed it well enough where most others didn't.
Although I don't understand the level of dislike, I can see...

Greetings,
Today, let's talk about jealousy we inflict on ourselves and the importance of accepting when we have thoughts and emotions that we know we probably shouldn't. In addition, I try to examine how ignoring these problems or bottling them up can lead us to harm ourselves and those around us.
It's perfectly normal to take time off from your social life. Everyone needs time to themselves and exercise their hobbies in solace. It's how we keep our skills sharp and our minds...

I take great pride in my musical family and I'll be condemned if I'll let my fear of heights get in the way of retribution when some random griffon thinks he can insult that. Although in retrospect, I probably should have just made him take a music lesson to gain appreciation for classical styles.
This episode is far from the first cartoon to be inspired by the Hatfield/McCoy feud and it's usually done in this format - two tall hills facing each other with a house on either side and excha...

Greetings,
Today, let's talk about how to expand our horizons. To try things we wouldn't normally try as well as the importance of being honest with ourselves and those that we try new things for.
There's a balance to be had that can be difficult to meet. Most people want to try new things with their friends. But they don't always enjoy what they're doing. If this goes on for too long, it could lead to both damaged friendships as well as dangerous situations. But where is that balanc...

If ever the paths of our lives should cross, be sure to ask me to tell the story of when I worked at a haunted house attraction. However, if this should happen to occur during the Halloween season, there will be no need to ask. You'll likely experience it first hand.
This episode brought us a lot that I didn't expect to see. For one; despite all th...

Greetings,
In today's installment, let's think about what it means to have a tradition, why it's important and how to share traditions with others without causing conflict. In addition, I believe it should be said that it can be easy to forget about other things we've learned in the past. Even though we may not repeat the same exact mistake, we're just as venerable if we don't understand how everything we learn is connected to each other. And that by needlessly separating, it becomes easy to h...

While Pinkie Pie and the Apple family are giving us the long-awaited extended trip to the rock farm - I took a page from the Pie family's book on the Hearth's Warming dolls. However, my family was none too impressed. Perhaps I should just let people have their own traditions and stick to mine. Or maybe get a smaller stone block.
While I'm definitely feeling the moral of this episode and I enjoyed the characters of the Pie family; some of the smaller details are throwing me off.

Greetings,
Today, let's review what it means to be trustworthy and how it can affect your friendships. I make a lot of correlations to "Green Isn't Your Color" and a few people I conversed with say that there wasn't much of a moral presented during "The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows" at all.
However, I disagree. Not only can it add onto lessons we've learned in other episodes, but it shows the importance of practicing what you preach and the implications that are involved. Even when th...

Goodness gracious. All I wanted was a cake.
Although a very simple and low-stakes episode, it was still something I could see Pinkie Pie going through. I got surprisingly invested while watching it and felt the suspense as to whether or not she would crack the whole time. The story was solid too. I always knew G.M. Berrow would do great in episodes as well.

As you all know, today's edition is a doozy. Apart from revisiting the idea of redemption for a character that, until now, seemed to have less of a chance for it than Discord; we're also looking at what it means to choose your destiny and how we can use that mindset to apply our talents to things that seem unrelated.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders may have reached a milestone in their storyline. But the adventures are far from over. I can't wait to see what they'll do now th...

So, it finally happened. Have you ever been so pumped that you launched yourself out of a cannon? It's intense.
A couple of things struck me as odd the first time watching this episode. Firstly, that I didn't think the CMC's cutie marks made a whole lot of sense. It's probably safe to say that the whole fandom was expecting skate sports, construction and music - respectively. So that was a very interesting fake-out.
Next was Diamond Tiara's characterization. I never had a real probl...

In this installment, I review what it means to be family and tie it to why it's important to keep the bonds we share between siblings. As well as how we can share a sibling bond with those who are not biologically related to us.
This episode also reminded us the importance of expressing ourselves to those we love and the impracticality of trying to live up to someone else's shadow. Apple Bloom and Big Macintosh already did a good job of showing how expressing ourselves...

I have a feeling I'm seeing double. Or a doppleganger. But what are the odds of that? Maybe Heather is just using her alicorn magic to create an illusion, or perhaps a gollum, to fool me into granting access to the Ponyville Stallion's Club.

Greetings,
Today, I'd like to revisit the subject of self-sacrifice. A subject I haven't gone into depth with since "The Crystal Empire." However, where "The Crystal Empire" was about dedicating time to helping friends or rushing towards danger to help get others to safety - "Made In Manehattan" tackled something much more commonplace.
This episode showed that a little bit of help can have a big impact. It showed how that impact can be the start of something great. It showed the impo...

In this edition, I talk about the skills Rarity employed during "Rarity Investigates!", their practicality and how you can learn them - if you don't have them already.
Something else that can be taken away from the episode is that sometimes, the best method for solving a problem is complex. If you don't trust your friends who are trying to help you and aren't willing to put in the time or the effort to investigate the root of the issue, nothing will ever get fixed. You'll ...

I found the episode hilarious, as usual. Though there were a couple of things that didn't make sense at first. Such as how Wind Rider could have gotten the cake and how he could have gotten it to the guards without being seen. But I...

Greetings,
In returning from the two-month hiatus, we've got one heck of a moral. Where most of season four episodes had two morals that intertwined with each other, this had at least three. I haven't seen anything like it since "Twilight Time." But beyond even that episode, this episode managed to realistically convey conflicts commonly seen between artists, corporate managers and the consumer public (what is it about this episode that motivates such drastic amounts of alliteration?). ...

I'm sure Toon Kritic and I could have worked something out if he didn't play the overzealous salesman that gets on my nerves so quickly. But I guess the fashion industry in general does that to me. I'm surprised he let himself hit the ground like that.
In my opinion, the best thing an episode can do is build the plot on top of itself. The little things like the way Sassy Saddles and Rarity debated, the relatively realistic business decisions they made with their consequences, even Sassy's ...

Today, we'll be discussing another topic I've had on my back burner for a couple of months. While it was only that long since this topic was formally suggested to me, it's something that I've wanted to cover since I started making videos and I finally feel the time is right.
My admiration for "Friendship is Magic" comes from how closely I could relate to the lessons as a Christian. Most other shows destructive behavior as good and normal in most of it's characters an...

Working down my backed up queue of suggestions, I've got a request from a long-time listener. Today I'd like to share my thoughts on Scootaloo's peculiar predicament in terms of flying. There's plenty of canon evidence to suggest that she may or may not ever fly. With that in mind, I delved into a few other methods to see what I could find.

Dreams are a complex and mysterious thing. Their reasons and meaning have been debated on by scientists in a variety of disciplines for years and we're all a long way off from truly understanding them - if it's possible to do so in the first place. Many theories on the subconscious implications of dreaming archetypes have been devised along the way.
Today, Corpulent Brony joins me to discuss our theories on the implications of the main sixs’ dreamscapes as shown...

I've touched on the subject of forgiving one's self briefly a couple times in the past. Most notably, during "Equestria Games." But it wasn't until today's edition that I found it necessary to go fully in-depth. While other episodes I've mentioned this concept in can merely carry these implications, "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?" shows through metaphor just how important it is.
An important thing to note that there is a very difficult balance th...

Today, I would like to talk about the friendship lesson woven within the episode Party Pooped. However, I'm not certain what that is or even if there is one. The Yaks are not people that it would be wise to associate with if we knew someone like them in life...much less try to befriend. In addition, I believe that success is not measured solely by effort.
There's a chance that this episode's lesson got at least some points right. Perhaps there's something...
