Hello campers! I really went and outdid myself this time. I really wanted to give this one an authentic manga flare so I put my all into the design and planning stages. Hopefully the effort paid off and you enjoy the upcoming pages!

Another one of those complex pages where it takes quite a few tries to get something I'm happy with. I'm not much of a mathematical or analytical thinker when it comes to layout and design. I prefer to feel things out and play with lines or positions until it just 'feels' right. Your audience isn't going to be using rulers to examine the pages, they're going to be experiencing it by eye, so that's how I like to draw it out too ^^

Here's a perfect example of just how many times it can take me to get something I'm happy with. I've noticed that every time I through something away and start over I'm always happier with the final result, so I'm never shy about discarding a page in progress and just starting over completely fresh!
Sometimes something doesn't feel quite right, or a figure looks too high on the page or a panel seems to be taking up too much room, or not enough. Each new iteration helps me get rid ...

Two different versions of the page 3 sketch, currently in progress. A little storyboarding tip I've picked up, start with one version, then do a new version where all the characters are just slightly smaller in the frame. It really helps keeps things from being too cramped. (I know I have a tendency to cram a lot of character into the page X3c)
