Got sudden inspiration for a last-minute spooky TF, into a chimaera. Also known as a ghost shark. Which is a spooky deep sea creature. Will I be able to finish it before halloween ends? Maybe. for a few time zones. probably not mine. I won't push myself too hard because I'm still sick (getting better, though!)
also included is a scrapped draft for the top left panel, because I thought a profile angle would be spookier and more dynamic.

Well it took nearly 4 years to get me, but I've finally come down with Covid-19. I just tested positive a few hours ago, and so far the symptoms aren't any worse than a moderate cold. There's a little bit of brain fog and fatigue, but not that much more than i experience on a regular basis.
I'm gonna try and take it easy, though, which might mean this month's comic/rewards end up coming a few days late. No guarantees, just preparing for that possibility. ...

Gators are a bit more straight-forward than the past few months' animals.regular lizards, but big. It's a nice change of pace.
Some fun Gator facts:
- No average lifespan has ever been recorded scientifically, but the oldest known alligator lived to the age of 84
- The muscles for closing their jaws are very powerful, but their muscles for opening them are very weak and can be easily held shut by an able-bodied adult human.

It's so awkward to draw the asymmetrical horn! Thankfully the rest of their body is extremely simple, so I can just stick it anywhere vaguely to the right of center.
I purposefully had the legs shrink into the body instead of merging into the tail, because it's more biologically accurate. Whales have teeny tiny vestigial leg bones underneath their blubber, left over from when they walked on land. It's one of my favorite whale facts. I really need to draw more pro...

I'm so fascinated by the asymmetry of the tusk. They look like a graphical glitch to me. I can't think of any other animals that are like this, except maybe crabs.
I already gave y'all some fun facts earlier this month, so here are some new ones! They really solidify my new theory that God made them by mistake!!
