Rendered piece of Kite Hasegawa as a fighting style character. It was an "expressive musculature" practice I did earlier that I kept wanting to go back to.
Rather than follow a strict anatomy, I wanted to have an anatomy that's more expressive -"for the looks"- than accurate, and I had an amazing time with it.

I wanted to try my hand a bit more at expressive anatomy to focus on speed, expression and movement, rather than fine-tuning anatomy and burning myself on the drawing.
Honestly, doing this style and execution makes it so easy for me to do variants... maybe I'll adopt this and make it a series for y'all with various characters!!

Along the way, I forgot that the original reason I was doing art was to make comics and be a comic artists. I decided to quickly go back at trying a simplified comic style:
- Thicker lines, with more line pressure.
- More hard shadows.
- Simplified, quicker style.
And that was the result. I'm... unsure how to feel about it. 😅
