Film Room Fantasy Rankings (Sep 3rd update)

Now that we have more clarity on the Mixon, Kamara, Fournette, and Raiders WR situations, I figured now is a good time to put out another quick update to the fantasy rankings (attached below). Plus, this update also includes the COMBINED non-PPR sheets that some of you were asking for.

Enjoy! And of course let me know if you've got any questions below. I'll be on the road all day so I'll be answering them/catching up on old questions from my phone. Thank you everyone!

Film Room Fantasy Rankings (Sep 1st update)

Here are my latest rankings in excel format, accounting for Fournette's release, some new injury information, and camp battles. I am monitoring the Kamara situation closely, so his ranking will also likely change if that situation gets contentious. Let me know if you've got any questions!

2020 Fantasy Rankings (Standard) version 1.0!

I have finally polished off the first versions of my standard scoring rankings for RB, WR, TE, and QB, as well as my defense and kicker rankings. PDF versions of these rankings as well as Combined rankings are still being tweaked, but as far as position rankings go, these are all done! Stay tuned for more updates every week leading up to the season.

Thank you all for your support again!

2020 Fantasy Rankings (PPR) Version 1.0!

So sorry for the radio silence lately, y'all. These rankings have come out WAY later than I typically like to release them every year because of a confluence of factors in my personal life, but I do hope that they are still coming out early enough for you guys to still benefit from them! Keep an eye out every single week because I WILL be releasing updated versions every week from now through the opening Sunday of the season!

Also I will have the combined PPR rankings as well as Standa...

Joe Burrow plays A LOT like Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson

I know that may sounds crazy, but just trust me - Burrow shares more traits with Mahomes and Wilson than you realize. When plays break down, there's very few college QBs in history that have been better at pulling magic out of their ass.

Chase Young is the best pass rusher I've ever evaluated

I didn't even think it would be possible to see a 20 year old kid have the technical development of the Bosa brothers, in the body of Myles Garrett, with the schematic versatility of Khalil Mack, but here we are.

Chase Young is the best pass rushing prospect I've ever seen. I literally can't find a single "real" knock on him. Sure, he doesn't use power moves probably as much as he should (because his speed is so good he uses it as a crutch), but he demonstrated many, MANY times that he...

The Packers defense is awesome...except for one thing

TL;DW...Mike Pettine's very clear tendencies to call certain coverages in certain situations, combined with the Packers' extremely low blitz percentage and lack of subtlety in their disguises, means the Packers have shown themselves to be incredibly vulnerable to quarterbacks that know what the hell they are doing at the line of scrimmage.

Green Bay got the shit kicked out of them last time against the Niners, but some of the few times they actually DID have succ...

Divisional Round Game Picks (Sunday)

TEXANS @ CHIEFS (-10)

Spread Pick: TEXANS

Straight Pick: CHIEFS

This game is nothing like the upset at Arrowhead that we all witnessed back in October. The Chiefs defense is playing at a dominant level since their mid-season slump (mainly because their linebackers are finally communicating better), Patrick Mahomes is healthy, and his supporting cast (Hill, Fisher, the Williamses, etc) are all healthy now as well. There is no...

VIKINGS @ 49ers (-7)

Spread Pick: 49ers

Straight Pick: 49ers

I *love* Kirk Cousins. He might get crap for some terrible throws late in games when he's trying to get his team back into it, but generally speaking, I think he's worth every penny to the Vikings - they wouldn't even be sniffing anywhere near this game without him. He's smart, he's accurate, he's tough as nails, and it really does warm my heart to see him finally ...

Wildcard Round Game Picks (Sunday)

We went one for two yesterday when we picked the Bills and Titans to move on to the divisional round. Let's see how we do today:

VIKINGS @ SAINTS (-7.5)

Spread pick: VIKINGS

Straight pick: SAINTS

This is going to be an excellent game - in my opinion maybe the best one all weekend. The Vikings are as healthy as they are going to get after essentially taking week 17 as a bye week, which means Dalvin Cook should be good to go. He's really th...

Wildcard Round Game Picks (Saturday)

The playoffs are finally here! We've got two straight days of excellent games coming our way, starting with a pair of extremely physical matchups among the AFC field. With a few hours still to go until kickoff, let's breakdown how I think they'll shake out in the end.

BILLS @ TEXANS (-2.5)

Straight pick: BILLS

While this might be a tough matchup on paper for Buffalo, I think schematically they can give Houston even more problems ...

Minkah Fitzpatrick has saved the Pittsburgh Steelers

I don't remember the last time I saw a mid-season trade have such a dramatic effect on one secondary, one defense, or even one team as a whole. To say that the Steelers trading for Minkah Fitzpatrick was "crucial" is an understatement. Without him on the team right now, I wholeheartedly believe that this would be a bottom five team in the NFL - there's just no way around that.

With all of the insanely clutch plays he made, the Steelers would have been SCREWED. Instead, ...

The Ballad of Baker Mayfield: Why the Browns are an emotional roller coaster

This one took a long, LONG time to make - roughly 140 hours from start to finish actually. That's part of the reason why I have been so absent for the last couple of weeks (as well as Thanksgiving, obviously), so I apologize for being a bit of a ghost around here. I just had to make sure that I got this 30-minute monster out in time for this Sunday's slate of games, and luckily I made it with about nine hours to spare.

Patron-Only Q&A (11-24-19) and Week 12 game picks!

Week 12 is one of the most loaded Sundays of the entire 2019 NFL calender, with several games between playoff contenders taking place throughout the day. I can't wait to see how it all goes down!

Jon Gruden's Raiders are here to take your lunch money

What do you get when you combine old school West Coast passing concepts with a bruising running back, a good offensive line, and a quarterback who gets the ball out too fast for pass rushers to have an impact?

You get a Raiders offense that absolutely refuses to get off the field, that's what.

What do y'all think of Oakland's chances to make the playoffs this season? For me at least, I consider them one of the front runners for a wildcard spot at this point.

Matt LaFleur's offense has completely revitalized Aaron Rodgers

So far, I would say Green Bay's hire of Matt LaFleur is going *extremely* well. His offense seems to have even more Kyle Shanahan influences than even Sean McVay's down in LA, and I consider that to be a very good thing. The more Shanahan-ish a coach can be, the better.

This team has a very bright future.

NFL Picks against the spread: Week 8

The lines are downright wacky this week because of some major injuries around the league. Here's what I've got for week eight!

GIANTS (+6.5) @ LIONS

The Giants may be without Sterling Shepard in this game (concussion), but luckily for them they should have Saquon Barkley back against one of the worst statistical defenses in the league over the past month…AND that bottom ranked defense will be without one of their best players in Darius Slay. Breaking down Patriots vs Jets against the spread

Do you guys think that New England can cover that huge -10 spread? With all of the injuries they have to fight through, I'm not so sure that they can.

I will say this though, if they DO somehow win this game by 11 points or more, it will be one of the most impressive coaching jobs by Bill Belichick from the last two seasons. This team is battered and beat up right now, and yet they are still one of the most dangerous ball clubs in the league - that says a lot about how damn good they ...

CARDINALS (+3.5) @ GIANTS

The Giants are getting Saquon Barkley back this week, which certainly helps, but the combination of Sterling Shepard being out, Patrick Peterson being back for Arizona, and Daniel Jones being very inconsistent leads me to picking Arizona to cover in this game. At the moment, I trust Kyler Murray to light up Big Blue a hell...
