We spent some serious time assembling all the new cages. We need to move our spare tire out of the trailer and attach it to the outside so that we have more walkway space.
I'm waiting on the right feeder dishes to come in that we ordered vs using the ones these came with (the Prevue cages anyway) plus perches and toys. We also need to get hooks, storage bins, etc... quite the project!

Before 2020 was over, we decided our Christmas gift to our flock was re-doing our bird travel trailer. We have had the same set up (or variations of it) for almost 15 years and the cages had been discontinued so as we began to have issue with some of the enclosures we could not replace them.
Some were hose-clamped in places, latches had fallen off and we were subbing bungees, and tape held other parts together. There was rust in the bottom trays but the birds couldn't reach them so we c...

Trailer update!
We got it back from the repair place today and it's now fully insulated and all electrical cables are hidden by the custom built-ins. It also got the heat strip installed so it can hold a temperature (heated - it always had AC but we were missing the heat strip) now without needing the use of a floor heater as we were doing before. The built in is for our little mini freezer which we use to travel with the frozen seasonal feeding for the birds to eat while on the r...

Capri told me she had been working on something new with Blueberry and I decided to video tape it to see what it was. So you guys get to see what I saw for the first time. You can probably all see that Capri had the cutest of intentions with this trick but what she did wrong was everything in my last Oh Flock episode that I said I had changed for success.

One of the top questions I get asked about is how do my bird's feathers look so VIBRANT? So colorful? So healthy? Of course, diet plays one of the largest roles in feather condition. Sooooo... since Blueberry owns the house and all, she insists on forcing herself on every bird that comes in which is why we have to be really strategic about when she has cage time (ie: Rocko coming in!) or we do our best to encourage her to stay in another room (my room tends to be her preferred space).
I figured since Sunny moves slow and Blueberry moves fast, she would be ok getting herself out of a bad situation. However, it turns out Blueberry was not the one I needed to be ...
