In this series with Jinx I am using these sessions to re-direct his aggression-response to me entering/exiting the room he lives in to an excited response. It's working and we are building our relationship in a fun way that doesn't trigger hormones!

While on board the Norwegian Spirit for Capri's 4th birthday, they put together the sweetest video for her... this was because during a performance about 1.5 months into our 3 month long contract, I fell off a 7' illusion and shattered my wrist. I was sent away and Capri and I flew home so I could have surgery. I felt so bad because it ruined her birthday celebrations we had all planned out before the accident... but friends always find ways to make it special for her!

We have an entire section on diet conversion in our new budgie course SPECIFIC to budgies because they are often a lot more difficult to convert than medium to large parrots (at least in our experience!) Also, Blueberry came to us on a seed mix which he was weaned onto... it can be much harder to convert birds who were weaned only onto seed as well.
This is one of the tricks I used!

What do I have to work on with Jinx?! I forgot to explain it in the video but the PROBLEM I was running into (which I could not video by myself) was when I would go into get Jinx, he would become SO AGGRESSIVE thinking I was going to grab one of the OTHER birds instead of him... (jealous much?!) and when I would get him, it was likely I'd get a nip on the way back or from his aviary. So I began taking him out more frequently for SHORT training...
