Pausing October Billing (Please Read)

Here is the latest.

I was told by the electricians on Thursday that I would have a dedicated power line for my computer for the weekend - but then when they were working yesterday (Friday), they said they were going to finish up all the outdoor work instead and start in my area on Monday. Liars.

I suspect that they simply did not want to deal with the complicated wiring in my apartment on a Friday when they were no doubt itching to be off for the weekend. Whatever.

There might possibly allegedly seemingly hopefully be a light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it is not an approaching train. 🚅

The electricians have been drilling holes in walls, cutting power, running conduit, and generally making a huge mess and a lot of noise all week. They reported yesterday (Saturday) that they were expecting to be done on Monday or Tuesday. I was incredulous, so we took a closer look at the scope of work and got all of that ironed out. Still, dare I hope...

Worse and worse - argghhh!

{sigh} Okay, so the electrician came over today and the problem is not isolated to one outlet or even one circuit. In fact, the entire house will need to be rewired. The electrician found active wiring that is more than a century old. ⚡🔌😶 It's an electrical fire waiting to happen. 🔥🚒 While I *like* firemen, I am not interested in being ON fire.

A little good news is that the landlord gritted his teeth and hired them to redo the wiring - they begin work *tomorrow*. My apart...

I finally got everything all connected up on Friday, plugged in the UPS and received a "circuit fault" warning. A little checking showed this was the outlet and not the UPS device. So, it seems that the outlet that I am using is faulty. Unfortunately, it also seems that the only correctly installed outlets are all in the kitchen and the bathroom, so I must wait for an electrician to properly see...

So, now I start reloading alla software and see what was salvaged from my poor defunct PC. 🫠 Not sure when I'll have enough done that I can post again but I hope to be able to post again this weekend. 🥳
