absolutely having a blast with this experimental style- I really missed the expressiveness of lineart and I'm enjoying returning to it a bit. The newest Astarion piece (the fey one) will follow the same style as I'm ALMOST finished with it.
Lineart is rougher on my hand which is why I shelved doing it last year, but the siren call... (I'm testing out different brush hardnesses as well as pressure sensitivity in order to dial this in a little better.

Hey everyone, something a little experimental as I goof around more with adding texture to my pieces. I really would like to push a more organic look to my paintings, and I think this might be a step in the right direction.
It's a bit of a combo of my newer stuff with my older stuff, I do miss doing scratchy lineart which I was really into for quite a while.

this was originally going to be a piece with angel wings but evil won.
trying to paint a bit more loosely, I'm constantly having to remind myself to push myself to be a bit more stylized otherwise I get too caught up in details. the visual of this punched me in my brain's eyeballs this morning and I had to paint it.
I have always found those eyeshadow/foundation swatch photos on makeup websites so aesthetically pleasing. Is that just me???
I've been desperate to try out some techniques for pushing a more 90s magazine look in my pieces, particularly for when I paint my vampire characters since they are set in the mid 90s.

Couldn't get my desire for a male Drow companion in BG3 out of my head. I wish we'd gotten some sorrowful lad, perhaps someone a bit like Xan if you'd played the first game (my beloved). Finally got around to painting my lovely Doctor Maksim Shaw, a vampire who is a bit of a freak of nature even among vampire-kind.
