So Spider-man is finally coming to Avengers this week. Turns out, he's packing light.
Previously every time we got a new character in the game, we've gotten a chunk of story/missions to go along with it. Really, the little bits of campaign we get and the mechanics of the heroes themselves are the only things this game has managed to do right thus far, so every little bit counts. I'm sure Spider-man will feel great to play as, but without any new missions, they're basically jus...
There was a time when our kids played with the friends we gave them. The children of friends of ours, other family, whoever we decided their playdate was with. The kids are old enough now that they're out in the world making friends on their own, which is great, but it also means I'm being roped into awkward blind dates with other parents in order to facilitate their increased social presence.

I've sunk a few hours into Halo Infinite this week. It's good. I like some Halo. And this may be the Haloiest Halo we've ever Haloed. But ultimately it's still just... more Halo. Which is simultaneously my highest praise and biggest criticism.

And they surprise-launched it on a Monday, those cruel bastards.

It's bananas that video games on a corporate level so routinely fumble the interaction with video games on a modding level.
These businesses have a right and a responsibility to protect their brand, of course, but often the nature by which they go about it seems so unnecessarily hostile that I wish I could sit in on some of these meetings at a higher level just to hear the rationale.
Video game publishers deciding to shut down the passion projects of modders, working for free an...
I have applied to a LOT of alpha/beta/stress tests over the years, but Elden Ring might be the first time I've gotten an email letting me know I didn't get in. Usually you just... don't get in.
I can't decide if giving me a heads up feels like a welcome courtesy, or an emphatic and targeted pronouncement of rejection. Like they wanted it to be stated loud and clear with no room for question. XD
Or perhaps I'm just reading into the subtext too much... https://twitter.com/masseffect/status/1457467946461188100
