Shit, the month is slipping by and I’m thoroughly underprepared! I don’t have pics for this one ;-; but I nabbed the two dual character prompts suggested because I’m in dual character kind of mood! Thank you for the suggestions! The final illustration will just be more of a surprise than usual :’3 apologies.

Camping Trip

finished this bigass ych for Thetamule! It was a really satisfying process to work on, I think I'm getting a little more comfortable with sequentials and comic-adjacent things... slowly! Especially the CSP workflow side of things.

DEETS tier is going to get a bunch of goodies in a sec, including the textless version and a longer timelapse than usual, because I wanted to save that for myself haha.

somno wip + animation 2nd pass

disclaimer: my dumbass didn't get the client's permission to start noodling around with the painterly bg style before I got carried away, so that's subject to change at least stylistically. but the lines for the somno piece are done! and the characters are blocked in n_n I'm excited to see it coming together.

2 is the original pass of the aniel animation and 3 is the second pass... it needs another, because my animation has been very unfocused through this one. I want to commit to three...

super rough concepts

these are all quite funky looking as they were done soooo quickly. the animation is especially rough because it was done straight-ahead rather than pose to pose (my usual), as I didn't have an idea of the movement when I really started. So it'll need another rough pass done the "right" way and then maybe we'll get somewhere. only might happen, though.

the rest are julian sketches with disembodied roscoes (ac), but I've clearly forgotten his horn! to be finished later, maybe.

Finished this chonker of a YCH today, I simply did not expect it to take as long as it did! But fluffy characters require a lot of extra brushing before they're camera-ready, so ultimately it makes sense.

some feelsy sketches from the other night! threw just enough detail on the first one so that you can tell it's aniel. Somewhat tempted to entertain the idea of it as a sfw YCH, but I'm not sure it'd sell with freight, and I'm not sure I'd want to adjust it to a different dragon! They're just my blorbos right now and I like thinking of them spending time together quietly sometimes. The likeliness of it happening in canon is very low but I'm not really bothered by canon, now, am I?

last second monthly headshots + brief update to the rama ref. gonna need some of velu's help finalizing the transmasc pose + getting a horse rama drawn that I enjoy I think!

darker lines over soft grey are mostly notes to myself. I want to try to retain their eyeshape as well as their pronounced nose bridge. this was clearer in their original ref with a lot of profile shots!

they possessed me and demanded a hotter pose for their ref. honestly the original pose never really made me happy, it's a little too "raptor-arm gremlin" stance for me. they ARE a gremlin but, not really like that. and they deserve a ref pose that shows off their... everything. :3

Like it says! I thought I'd ask y'all for ideas for next month's illustration. If you see someone suggest something that you like, show some support and it'll be more likely that I go with that option. There will still be a vote, I'll pick my two favorites/the two most supported, sketch them, and throw them head to head in a poll next month :3

If nobody suggests anything then I'll still figure it out and put up a vote I just thought I'd try something different!

Freight tailplay real. Spent a long long time on all that goo and I think I'm fairly alright with the result, I'd like to practice more. Is it a little too silly to have certain elements of my work overly rendered almost "realistically" when my style is cartoonish? I dunno! I think I'm alright with it. Maybe I'll find a middle ground I'm really comfortable with.

here's some goodies! don't expect the latext rendering to look as good when you zoom in XD but you know it's important to consider the time you alot yourself as an artist, sometimes effectively expressing the idea is prioritized over realistic accuracy. I threw the psd in in case anyone wants to intuit the process I used for the latex but a bit of it is somewhat painted over at the end. enjoy!
