A solid week for writing, though not an easy one. Real world demands made it difficult to get private time for writing. But generally, I'm pleased with the progress. Revised and expanded some earlier bits in the chapter, and got David and Julia out to the bars on a Saturday night together, with the explicit aim of picking up a guy for Cindy.

I really like this one. Though not tied to a specific written scene, it's easy to imagine Cindy being sent off to bring back coffee for Mr Connor. Working late, compelled to check in on the boss. Perched at the edge of the desk. Seething inside with resentment, but also--a little excited.

I may just have to write this image into the story somewhere. [Update: it's finally found its moment, and is being written in Constant 3, Chapter 7.]

Wednesday Sneak Peek: A Night Out

For higher-tier subscribers, a glimpse at an important scene. After the shopping trip, and under Julia's thumb, David prepares for a night out with her. The bit with the hair brushing was unexpected, but provides a glimpse into her backstory. Hopefully, it generates an additional bit of sympathy for her, whilst hinting at a reason for her fixation on David--was he a replacement-father figure for her, back in the day?
