Since Jay seems to be one of the most favorite characters according to the poll, I decided to post a drawing of him and as Abigail received almost the same numbers of votes, I think I'm gonna post a drawing of him too.

The pandemic hit Oscar and Tommy hard. They had to sell their house. Then they had to close their gym down and start living in it. At least until things got back to normal. For Oscar, the boredom was unbearable. Surrounded by weights every day, his hankering to bulk up bigger blew out of control.

Here I show you some more of what´s behind my work. At that stage, I only work out proportions and gestures. However, I love, improvising when the result can be improved; on Dirk´s final drawing you can see his right hand in a different position from his mannequinization version.

When I design a character, sometimes I start kind of realistic, and then I exaggerate or soften certain features to get a nice balance between cartoony expressiveness and realism as you can see in the final illustrations of Dirk and other characters. I´m not really into exhaustive figure sheets full of precise proportions; I always try to keep a solid anatomy foundation, but without limiting my imagination and spontaneity.
