RoE Devlog 7 - Upcoming 0.09 Release

Hey everyone, with version 0.09 just about finished I want to show you what we've been up to.  We're aiming to get version 0.09 out before the end of the month but still have a couple of big ticket items left on the to-do list so there's a chance we could overshoot.  We should have a clearer idea by this weekend so I'll keep you posted.  A couple of the placeholder backgrounds have been replaced, including the creek:

RoE Devlog 6 - Version 0.09 And Beyond

Version 0.08 Progress

Hey everyone, just want to give a quick update on the final release of version 0.08 which is set to replace version 0.08a.  The artist has moved on to the upcoming version 0.09 renders while I finish implementing the last of her new and improved character sprites into the game.  I'm still on track to get this update released tomorrow with a working gallery and some additional bug fixes, so stay tuned.

Quick Update

Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you know that we're on the home stretch for this release.  If all goes well it should be coming out Sunday evening, but if we hit any snags we'll wrap it up by Tuesday.  There's still some more optimizing to be done, so we're going to split this into a main release followed by a small hotfix shortly afterward like we did for the last version.

What's Coming in Version 0.08

Hey everyone, version 0.08 is underway so it's about time to let you know what we're working on.  First up in terms of story we'll be adding a scene with Raisa to the existing events of day 3, then finishing up day 4 of the prologue which will have 2 rendered scenes.  As far as artwork goes, we're going to continue improving our sprites by bringing the rest of the characters into the new pose-able system.  We've already finished with Raisa and added her pregnancy morphs.  ...

What's Coming in Version 0.07

What's Coming in Version 0.06

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you all an idea of what we're working on for the next release.  Version 0.06 is going to start moving into the events of day 3, and will be our first release with a fully animated h-scene.  After making a list of all of the artwork required and estimating the time, we decided that we're going to split up day 3 into 2 smaller releases so that we can get them released faster, ideally closer 1 month each this time around.  While our artist is work...

RoE Devlog 2 - Version 0.05 Finish Line

Hey everyone, with version 0.05 just about done here's what to expect. In addition to a few minor tweaks to day one, we have doubled the play time by adding in all of the events of the second day. The first day was all about introducing the world and main characters, but now in day two your choices will begin to have an impact on which story pathway you unlock. Quick Update

Hey, just wanted to drop a quick update on our progress on version 0.05.  We're starting on our final big render this weekend and should be ready to drop the release towards the end of next week at the latest.  I'll get some timelapses posted up this weekend for some of the new artwork we've added.

Animated H-Scenes

I have some great news, it looks like we just found a way to double the number of h-scenes that we can produce in a set amount of time.  With AI frame interpolation, we can get smooth animation loops with just 6 drawn frames.  Doing this at full game resolution takes way more VRAM than we have access to, so we still need to overcome the limits of my tired ass GPU before we can take advantage of this.  In the coming months I'm going to experiment with techniques that break anima...
