Golden Demon: Death Guard Weathering

Hello, fellow Wizards and Necromancers!

In today’s tutorial we are going to go through the steps of painting wearhered Death Guard armor.

This is a test for a Golden Demon piece I have in mind - a heavily battle worn Dearh Guard Contemptor Dreadnought.

Let’s get into it!

1. Start with basecoating with Ivory from AK Interactive. If you don’t have this paint, you can use an alternative (for example Pallid Wych Flesh from Citadel). As always, it’s v...

Painting faces like a professional

Hello fellow wizards!

Hope everyone’s having a fantastic Tuesday!

Today I’d like to show you how I’ve painted this head - possibly the best head I’ve ever painted.

Let’s get straight to the point!

1. Basecoat with Bugmans Glow.

2. Wash (with glaze consistency) around the eyes and the mouth with watered down Doombull Brown, adding the paint sparin...

My appreciation and deep gratitude.

Hello, fellow Wizards!

Today, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has joined so far. I have been doing Patreon for almost 3 weeks and the support that you have shown me has been extraordinary.

I’d like to express how much I appreciate every single one of you.

From what I can see, many other creators only post once a week or twice a month. I, on the other hand, have a immense drive to paint every day and create tutorials all the time. Hopefully, you have...

Green Eye Lenses OSL and Eavy Metal Ultramarines

Hi everyone! In today’s tutorial I’m going to talk about painting Ultramarines the Eavy-Metal way and creating atmospheric, green OSL glow effect from the eye lenses.

As this is pretty straight forward, let’s get into it!

1. Over Macragge Blue basecoat, edge highlight with Altdorf Guard Blue. Add this coat with a layer like consistency (the paint has to be thick enough to have a visible impact on the surface). Make this highlight quite thick (wide), as we will need space fo...

NMM Chrome and Copper

Hello fellow wizards!

Hope it's been a busy-painting week for you all!

I've decided to close the week off with a very interesting topic - NMM Chrome (and added NMM Copper as a bonus).

It's really not as complicated as many try to make it seem!

1) We shall start with painting a hal circle with Altdorf Guard Blue (layer) and highlighting the outer (closer to the middle of the area in this case) edge of it with Fenrisian Grey, glaze consistency.

Red Capes - velvet like material on your miniatures

Hi all!

In today's tutorial we take a look at paining red capes and achieving the much sought after velvet like effect on your miniatures.

In order to achieve a very soft, gentle look, you will need to be patient but it will pay off! This cape took me around 40 minutes to complete from step 1 to 9. If you won't have to document every step like I did, I recon you can do it much quicker! Let's start!

1) Basecoat the entire cape with Rhin...

Blue Chaos Shield, Silver NMM and Red OSL, Chaos Warriors

Hi fellow Wizards!

This is the second tutorial of the day, and it's about painting a Blue Chaos Shield, Silver NMM and Red OSL! It is a complex tutorial that I tried to simplify a lot as I myself like to paint in the most effective ways. Let's get into it!

1. Over a black basecoat, spray with white, adding the color from the top left (from our point of view). You can add it through a spray can or through an airbrush.

Green Plasma OSL

Hi everyone!

In today's tutorial we have a look at a simple way of creating a OSL effect on your plasma weapons. This tutorial is for airbrush users but I will soon create a OSL tutorial that can be achieved without an airbrush. Let's get into it!

1. Airbrush the plasma areas with white paint.

2. Airbrush the entire OSL area with a 3:1 mix of Yriel Yellow and Scor...

Vibrant Red, Warm Gold NMM and green OSL, Chaos Warriors

Hi all! In today’s tutorial we take a look at 3 topics at once! Vibrant Red, Warm Gold NMM and green OSL are all very nice skills in your toolbox so let’s get cracking!

1. On a Rhinox Hide basecoat, add a layer of Evil Sunz Scarlet. The placement of the highlight is important. If you don’t know wheee to put the highlights - look at the bit you’re painting before you start applying the highlights. There’s a good chance that the basecoat will be reflecting some light. Use that ...

Painting a Silver NMM Axe, Chaos Warriors

Hi all!

I’ve decided to make a separate tutorial on NMM for painting axes, as it’s a different surfaces and it would be good to explain the steps for a new shape of weapon. Here are the steps:

1. After the initial basecoat with black, start applying Thunderhawk Blue, glaze consistency (paint 3:1 water). Add it in 2-3 surfaces, making one other highlight (in this case the top one) and one or a few smaller ones.

Painting books and freehanding text, Chaos/Undead

Hey everyone!

Today I will teach you one of the ways to paint a miniature book, freehand text, add weathering and get a realistic feel to it.

1. Basecoat the pages with Ushabti Bone.

2. Apply some transfers. Find the ones that will blend into the theme of your book nicely. In this case it’s a Necromancer book, so I chose some ancient looking let...

Ice Blue Plasma Glow OSL

Hi you Giants of the Wizarding World!

Today I've decided that it's time to delve into creating a Ice Blue Plasma Glow tutorial. It will be very nice and easy to follow!

1. Airbrush White 3:1 with Templar Blue onto the plasma coils area and everything near it. Make sure to apply a good, reliable coat of paint so that we can have a good foundation in the future steps.

Blue NMM Power Swords

Hi all!

Today I have prepared a Blue NMM Powers Swords tutorial for you. It is extremely simple, as it only involves 6 paints (or 3, if you don't want to create the glimpse half orb). The whole process took me less than 30 minutes, including time for taking pictures of every stage and so on, so I would say you can do it much faster :)

Without further ado:

1. Basecoat with any black paint. If you wish to basecoat with a spray can - that is fine, but after you have done that, ...

Painting Dark Skin

Hi fellow Wizards!

I’ve decided to go into detail on how to paint dark skin this week!

If you want to paint a darker skin color, use the following steps:

1. Start with a basecoat of Rhinox Hide. Make sure to use 2-3 thin coats. Basecoating is very important, as it’s your foundation and you want to be able to rely on it in the future.

2. Start sketc...

Realistic spiderwebs done with cheap glue

Hello my fellow wizards!

A few years ago I have created my own technique of doing spiderweb/cobweb effect on miniatures (I'm sure it was done before, but I have developed this technique on my own), using simple, water based glue. After that, a few companies have created spiderweb effects and started selling them. Today, I think it is a good idea to remind everyone, that this effect can be achieved simply, by using cheap products from your local store.

Let's get to the point!...

Silver Non Metallic Metal (NMM) - Steel

The key in painting a convincing nonmetallic metal effect on miniatures is to apply lighting convincingly and create a high-volume contrast. You have to be able to trick the viewers eye into believing that something painted with nonmetallic paints is actually metallic.

Step by step on painting silver NMM:

1. Start with a basecoat of Black.

2. Highli...

Painting a pale face, Chaos Warriors

Hello fellow Wizards!

Here’s a step by step on how you can paint pale human faces on your 28mm scale miniatures.

1. Start with a basecoat of Bugmans Glow mixed 3:1 with Rhinox Hide. I always like to basecoat with 2-3 thin coats of paint. A good foundation is very important, as the basecoat will have a crucial impact on the final outcome. Take your time with the steps, let the paint dry completely.

2. Next, start highlighting, using Cadian Fleshtone. Apply this ...
