Ba Dend is progressing a bit slow...

The large-scale, high detail, painted CYOA bad end adventure is still ongoing, but it's getting clear that it won't be complete before end of year. Life distractions and stressors are making the project take long (and it doesn't look good that I sporadically dive onto random one-day projects seemingly on a whim).

I have to pause on art streaming in November. In that period of time, I need to find a more effective workflow for this project. This turned into a magnum opus kind of deal-y, ...

Ideas Monthly (October 2023)

Barely on pace month! I still feel able to finish them all by end of year (only lagging by two)!

I received a lot of interesting ideas this month (I often do), though I run out of time pretty quickly...
I also have a bad tendency to bias a little hard; it mostly depends on perceived free-time.

Ba Dend 4 (Progress Shots Sep 2023)

Slow start, late start. Zebras WILL GET THEIR REVENGE! It's also very Madlibs and I hope the resulting image looks good.

Because it was a slow month, I feel it's fair to toss in a few extra, unrelated sketches into this post too. They are vaguely more polished, but I don't know if that means I'll do anything further with them.

Best to focus on zebras...

Ideas Monthly (September 2023)

Catch up month. I may be able to finish them all by end of year! We played with a lot of wild ideas too! Hopefully there's something for everybody (especially those that didn't know it was something for you!).

It's been a lengthy build-up, but we've made it to part 3!

The zebras are angry, the zoo is Lamina-ted, the voters are masochistic, so we're awaiting punishment! Together! (Actually the poll was close, a 60:40 split)

Heckling the Zebras had some consequences!

This image had a huge build-up, and it took a long time to get all the details in to get it to you.

Thank you everyone for your support and patience with this sequence in particular! It's been a longer than anticipated journey, and I'm happy to keep it at this level of detail and quality, as long as you're happy with the results!

[Fan-art] I like Kainik's reptile stuff

Sometimes I'll see something I like and I'll make a spin on the same thing, or an imitation, deliberately trying to capture a style. I like Kainik's style and this pose is great, so I thought I'd take a crack at it.

The legs probably wouldn't bend that much, but I wanted to mimic the pose mostly.

This was a big picture. Two months in total, from story to madlib, to drawing, to painting.

Truly, zebras are very stripey. I hope it looks good! That's the final at the very end (minus options). A poll will be up next week for which options to choose.

Ideas Monthly (August 2023)

Uh oh! Gotta catch up again! I've got the queue back on track, but I had a few surprises last month. Good surprises, of course. I love all the ideas!

This month was quite ambitious, with colors, a massive OC crossover concept (I guess I have a lot of OCs), and delving into the experimental. Unfortunately, I may be getting too ambitious with some of these prompts, and I might have to dial it back a little. Oh well, I had fun.

"Brainless" WIP Sketches

I'm not sure what I'm doing with this idea yet, but I'm very curious to make a very small animation from it. For now, enjoy some random undefined key-frames.

There comes a time where I just need to share some sketchy things to the public. Most of the time, it's a sketch that has so much added to it that touching it with another brush will more likely ruin it than make it better.

Bad-End Part 3: WIP shots (Julie 2023)

Progress is still a bit slow on this sequence, but I'm happy to take my time and maintain a higher quality. I think the many redos will help the overall story, as bizarre as it is.

Streaming twice a week was a mixed blessing. More snapshots, but way less focused. I'm happy to go back to once a week.

July is building up to be a busy month

I don't normally announce things ahead of time, but just a heads up that I may have to juggle around commitments, and there may be delays to Patreon-related things. This is "busy" in a good way, but it still saps my free time for art and other oddities.

I expect to still have sketches and something to share by the end of the month as usual. However, if I start having to delay and disappear from too many planned streams and it doesn't look like I'm making a lot of progress on my commitme...

I don't have as many plates in the air as I used to. Most of this is due to stress of juggling a day-job again, but also because I'm trying to start up and meet promised commissions that were on the back-burner a long-time.

I think focusing on one image at a time is the smart thing to do, so expect this image to get more developments as I make time. She's an insanely twisted interpretation of Pokemorph lore.

Just... gotta get that face looking right.

The Bad End #2 (progress shots)

This is something that carried from May all the way through June. I wanted to provide every shot I saved as evidence I've gotten better about saving in between streams ^^;

This also includes the difficult "biomechanical" phase where I had to backtrack one of the Madlibs; it was just too hard to add on the image. It's neat in concept, but zebras were already hard-core enough with their natural body tattoos.

WIP Shots! (Mayflies 2023)

This month has been very progress-heavy, with a large focus each stream being on the "Bad End" page 2 itself (lookit those zebra stripes develop!).

I'm recognizing that this single panel has been stuck for a month in development, and I may need to take some unfortunate artistic liberties about whether "Biomechanical" is still part of the madlib (sorry cyborg fans...)

It's been a wild experiment, though. And wherever it goes, we can be sure it'll be weird.

Ideas Monthly (Mayflies 2023)

Break even! The queue has not yet defeated the 'roo! Of course, it's not a numbers game. Just the slight road bump of doing one idea per weekly stream, and needing to polish a lot at the end. And surprisingly, these are the polished sketches.
