Samus Aran’s elimination and Metroid’s fate, fully colored and completed artwork, sans the text and baubles. This one was a lot more relaxing, and as a result, was one of the most enjoyable to draw. I know there were a lot fewer characters in this artwork, but I hope that is not an issue. I figured it matched her story’s more isolated tone (Samus is a lonely woman);

Halo elimination line art complete. It may look cool on-screen, but I would be lying if I said drawing all those little details was not a hassle! Hopefully the worst is over now, and coloring will prove to be easier.

Cortana + update on Kat (WIP)

Why must video game developers design their characters in such artistically challenging ways? They clearly do not have fanart in mind when making them. I hope she turned out well, she definitely took far more time and effort than anticipated to draw. (OverlordMetal will resume working on the Halo project shortly after finding a pen Cortana did NOT kill).

In other news, Catherine-B320 was also updated so her pose and body shape would have more emphasis on her rear. Enjoy.

Here is the early sketch for Halo’s fate in Heavyweights. I did my best to fit most of the characters mentioned in the post. From right to left, top to bottom: Cortana, Miranda Keyes, Senator Del Rio, Catherine-B320, Kelly-087, Frederic-104, Linda-058, Sarah Palmer, John-117, Dr. Halsey. Please let me know what you think about how the artwork is currently turning out and if you think any last minute changes should be made before inking.

I have never played Halo. What are some other major characters I should add to Cortana’s elimination besides Master Chief?

TMNT Elimination (Textless)

Furries are not my preferred subject matter, but it would be weird not to include the turtles and Master Splinter in a group artwork set in their own world. I almost forgot Krang One, which would have been quite an oversight. Karai was perhaps the most fun for me to draw, besides April of course. It was interesting trying my hand at Irma too. At one hundred feet long, there are few whom this majestic blue whalemaiden will not dwarf the way she does Batra here. Better late than never, here is my entry to MerMay before the month comes to a close.

Status Update

I appreciate everyone’s patience with the delays. I hope the three colored artworks I released a few days ago helped ease the situation to some degree. I unfortunately did catch the same illness my siblings had, though fortunately, it did not develop into pneumonia or bronchitis in my case. Thankfully, I am already on the mend, so I should be able to resume my usual pace soon enough.

Regarding what to expect artistically: after the remaining Heavyweights artworks are finished, weekly ...

PANTERA Artwork Gifted to Phil Anselmo!

Art-related, which is why I am sharing this here (don’t worry, this has not become my social media feed). I am overjoyed to share that I had the fortune of being able to personally give my Pantera artwork to the band! Phil took a particular liking to it and asked if he could keep the copy I had originally brought as a photo prop. Amazing experience, one for the books.

A gift and tribute to one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, Pantera. I wanted to play off the “Cowboys from Hell” motif, hence the fire and horses. I was originally going to dress them as cowboys as well, but post-hair metal era Pantera placed a lot of emphasis on not overdressing to distance themselves from their former aesthetic and putting them in chops would risk harkening back to their '80s days. I regret to inform everyone that due to several of my relatives contracting pneumonia, we may experience delays since due to my attention being divided between caring for them and delivering pending artworks. This message was actually supposed to be sent out earlier, but as you can see, I have been dealing with a lot. I am doing my best to stay healthy and stay on top of my current workload, but unfortunately current living conditions are not conducive to it. Again, not halting, just warning ...
