Drink Binks (Nami, One Piece)

Again, sorry for the wait! I got my computer back from the repair shop and spent most of Friday restoring my files (it seems to be working just fine now, fingers crossed) and I had a nice weekend with my family.

I really wanted to lean on the retro aesthetic for this, so I used sort of a halftone pattern and some vintage paper textures. I was also torn between a sharp cel-shaded look and a softer airbrushed look, so I used a little bit of both.

iPad sketches + Timelapse (Darkstalkers, Elden Ring)

Getting a lot of practice with the iPad this week -- doing stuff in my usual style hasn't worked, so I've used it more like a traditional sketchbook and done pencil-style drawings. I think they've turned out pretty cool! Hopefully I can keep up the habit even after my computer's fixed. Getting away from my desk is kinda nice.

My Work Computer is Busted / Nami Art Delayed

Well, I've been having issues with it for quite awhile, but -- my computer died yesterday. I'll be taking it to the nearest computer repair place as soon as I get a chance, but they said it's going to be a few days minimum and as long as a couple weeks if they need to order a replacement part of some kind.

Fortunately, all my data is backed up to an external hard drive, so I don't think I've lost much (a little of the progress on the Nami pic, since I was in the middle of saving yesterd...

Forgive me if it's not what you might've expected, but I wanted to try something different with this one! Since Sabrina's had so many different iterations of her design, I thought it'd be fun to do a variety -- and not just the design, but their specific palettes, too. I ended up picking HG/SS Sabrina, original anime Sabrina, and TCG Sabrina.

I don't know if these are as sexy as the usual bonus sketches, but I love how they turned out as pieces of art and I learned some interesting thin...

I removed Alakazam from the topless version...just felt weird to have him there, I dunno, lol. 

It's always tough to decide how to light/shade anime tits in a cel-shaded style. Too soft and it doesn't mesh with the rest of the artwork. Too sharp and it feels flat and unappealing. I went for somewhere in between here. It's still not quite my ideal...but I will continue to pursue anime tit perfection.

Summer Sabrina (Pokemon)

So...I ended up completely starting this over yesterday, lol. I really wasn't happy with the way it was turning out -- for a remake of an older piece, it didn't feel different enough from the previous one. Sorry for totally switching things up from the WIP sketch!

The extra psychically-controlled treats felt too cluttered, so I narrowed it down to just the ice cream cone. I also wanted to give Sabrina an excuse to be telekinetically feeding herself, so her hands are occupied with fixing...

Summer Sabrina WIP

I decided to do an updated version of the swimsuit Sabrina I drew a couple years ago. Felt like a good time for a summer piece now that it's getting really hot outside, and I also just wanted to draw more Sabrina.

There's a good chance I'll change the pose and stylization quite a bit yet, but with this sketch you can at least get a general idea of what I'm going for as compared to the previous version -- a more ambitious composition, more tasty treats being manipulated by psychic powers...

As I said in the SFW post, I prioritized the action over the sexy stuff for this -- I really struggled with the tits out version, lol. The plan was for there to be a lot of sway to her chest, as if she was rotating her torso really quickly, but no matter how many times I drew it, it didn't look right. Frankly, I'm still not satisfied -- but this was the best I could do right now. They're still nice tits, just not as nice as I wanted.

I prioritized the energy/action of this piece over basically everything else -- the sexy elements weren't as prominent as maybe they should've been, but I think the indents of the dress straps on her chest are pretty nice.

At first, I shaded this softly similar to the previous drawing I did of Byleth. But it felt to me like what this particular art called for was something more stylized and sharp, so I went back to my usual cel-shaded style.

You know...it seems like I'm bandwagoning by drawing Yor, but I've been reading the Spy X Family manga since the first chapter, lol. I dunno why I never drew her earlier.

Honestly, if I wasn't working on this for Patreon, I would probably just do a few minor tweaks for clean up, add a bit of texture and call this good enough -- I feel like the roughness of the sketch works well for the energy of the piece. I kinda miss doing "sloppy" art. But, I'm hoping I can retain some of that energy...

In my personal opinion, perhaps the most grab-able tits I have ever drawn, lmao.

Maybe not everyone's into "saggy" boobs, but I'm a fan of the natural look myself. Big tits are affected by gravity, and seeing them behave the way I expect physical objects to behave makes the monkey neurons in my brain light up. It's the "those look heavy, can I hold them for you" meme made real, lol.

Also, sweaty ladies are very good. 😤

I think I finally found a soft brush that I like, lol.

I tried to render this more realistically than usual, but still keep plenty of stylization -- finding that balance is always tough. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

Overall, I like how it turned out! There's something tactile about wet shiny skin that I love. 🥰

A little tidbit about Jalmira: she's based on the al-mi'raj, a mythical beast from Arabic folklore that looks like a golden rabbit with a single horn. All wild animals will flee in fear at the sight of an al-mi'raj, which is what inspired her intimidating personality when dealing with her fellow maids. She's still a giddy fangirl for her master, though.

Tried some different stuff -- using multiple shadow colors right next to each other (mostly red and purple) and having a bit of gradation to soften the cel shading. Personally, I like it! But I think with more practice/experimentation, I'll make it even better in the future.

Makima is terrible and wonderful and if you don't know who she is now, just wait 'til the Chainsaw Man anime comes out and you'll see her EVERYWHERE, lol.
