Well, Tannis being Tannis, trying to handle things to fight alone. But now let's see what happens with the rest of the slaves, see if they're useful or end up being a hindrance like our favorite mercenary usually is.

Tannis is skilled at untying herself. It's a skill she learned as a child.
I think it was important to make that clear, plus I like the idea that she has someone to remember, Grandma Oshi.
(And yes, she inspired me by Uncle Iroh from Avatar).
