Book 3: Chapter 5 - A New Point of View (RAW)

The Whispering Wastes, at least from the mouths of the more intrepid adventurers tell, has hidden depths beneath its shifting sands. They speak of a cavernous network of tunnels, bored out by the Guardians of the wastes and of rivers, not of water, but of sand that flow beneath the surface. They tell tales too of people who have never seen the light of the Sahel, our glorious sun, who have made such a place their underground home. Status Update

Alright, Book 1 is going to be published on September the 19th 2023, and my deadline for submissions for Book 2 is by the end of September so that recording/final editing can be finished on time. To that end, I have been utterly focused on editing chapters, checking stats and skills etc. and making sure there are no plot holes. Releases of raw chapters are going to be delayed while I get Book 2 ready for public consumption. Thank you for your patience.

Book 3: Chapter 3 - Reflection (RAW)

Money is arguably one of human civilization's most impactful invention. Born from both human greed and necessity, it quickly permeated every corner of the known world, being adopted by almost every race in Gesthe. Money fuels trade, serving as the cornerstone of prosperity and progress. Truly, its evolution is fascinating, from the initial exchange of rare shells to the minting of copper, bronze, silver, and gold coins.

Yet, it is the Shareholder Houses of Al-Lazar that hav...

Book 3: Chapter 2 - Testament (RAW)

Smooth and powerful are the winds of change brought by the words of prophecy. Cutting through the mountains like a river and as inexorable as the tides.

- On the Prophecy of the Gods, by Gideon de Salavia 376 A.C.

A Power and hunger that knew no bounds burst from me on wings of black lightning. I had become a willing conduit for eldritch forces far beyond mortal ken, my faith was rewarded with a savage display of an elder god’s wrath. Incandescent light, bright enough t...

Book 3: Chapter 1 - Defiance (RAW)

Anything, when meticulously crafted and refined for a single, specific purpose, free from all unnecessary trappings and features, embodies a form that is pure and captivating. Like the most beautiful sounding of instruments, or the most elegant of weapons - their intrinsic beauty lies in their purity of purpose. In this, the human heart can not help but be enamored.

But when we ponder the nature of such beauty, an ethical question arises. If the thing is fashioned for a pur...

Mini-update

With chapters 1-15 ready for submissions I will be re-uploading those once I find a spare minute. The latest chapter will be available in a few more hours. Quick update.

Hey guys! Just got the first sample of the audio book for chapter 1 and it was quite good :). Book 2 is almost finished with me just wrapping things up. More importantly I am focused on editing to get the quality of chapters back up to par as I have a huge backlog to go through. I really had to make sure things that language and storywise things were consistent in the very important chapter 12 when we are given our Mcguffin. Re-edited versions of chapter 1-12 will be coming soon!

- A Quassian Aphorism

Rosy-fingered dawn was just starting to climb the morning sky when I awoke once more to another day. As was my habit, I checked my Status or ‘character sheet’, pleased that after my rest I was in peak condition. A minor annoyance was the list of skills and spells that seemed to be growing ever longe...

  • The Living Sword Fen by Vaigorus Kaldari Swordmaster circa 520 AC

I awoke well before the darkness of the night gave way to the simply dark grays of the cool forest morning.. What little light that filtered through the branches was a poor facsimile for true daylight. Kidu and Elwin had already started to break camp as I awoke from my bedroll. My body, as I got up, ...

Raising the visor of my helmet, I drew in a deep lungful of air. Slight notes of rot and metallic copper wafting up into the air made me wince at the stains that adorned my cheap robe. Almost instantly, the countdown to assign my points began and I put all of my attribute points into Constitution and my new skill...
