Die Shrink 42: Half Life 2 (Favorite Games)

Tom & Dan didn't play HL2 the year it came out, but it's low system requirements (Single Core CPU, 1GB of DDR2, DirectX 8.1 GPU) made it a godsend to play when our PCs weren't so high spec...and it left quite an impression on us.

One could argue Half Life 2 set the gold standard for what people should expect in graphics, AI, gameplay pacing, and story in a FPS that still hasn't really been eclipsed yet...besides graphics, but even then it's graphics held up for ~decade.
