Tom & Dan have both recently been forced to make some GPU purchasing decisions they never thought they would make. If 1 year ago you told us people would be paying $300+ for 5 year old Polaris cards...we would have had a hard time believing you. But this market is insane right now, and that means making insane choices in what you buy.

-What reservations or expectations for Intel (good or bad) do you have?

Just four years ago efficient architectures like Nvidia Pascal were paving the way for what type of performance you could squeeze out of a "console-sized" gaming PC. But now in 2021, the consoles are bigger than ever - and 350w+ Graphics Cards are becoming a standard TDP tier. Is the Small Form Factor revolution over?

Tom & Dan didn't play HL2 the year it came out, but it's low system requirements (Single Core CPU, 1GB of DDR2, DirectX 8.1 GPU) made it a godsend to play when our PCs weren't so high spec...and it left quite an impression on us.
One could argue Half Life 2 set the gold standard for what people should expect in graphics, AI, gameplay pacing, and story in a FPS that still hasn't really been eclipsed yet...besides graphics, but even then it's graphics held up for ~decade.
