Hi everyone.
I found some VERY old cartoons I made when I was young. I think they're about 10 years old. I made them for some Dutch gaming websites when the Wii was close to being released, so that'd be around 2005.
The only technique/tool I had mastered somewhat was the dip pen, so I used to draw these on paper, scan them and get extremely frustrated because I couldn't properly seperate my line art from the white paper. Then, I'd color the cartoon in Photoshop and apply some "shading" a...

With the arrival of the Switch we’re not just saying goodbye to the Wii U, but also to the 3DS (and 3D and dual screen gaming in general), the Wii U Pro Controller, the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk. I’m gonna miss them, they’re responsible for countless hours of fun.

Our comics are being shared and viewed all over the internet. And as uncle Ben said: with great views, come great comments. This week, I'd like to share a few of the best ones. For the sake of privacy, I won't disclose any usernames. All of these comments come from Reddit though.

Lots of people pointed out that the Dragonborn should be the last person to kill a chicken (or Cucco) without thinking. So I felt a sequel was needed.

Since we now work on this comic with two people, the progress is a bit weird. The outside backgrounds being finished before the rest, for example. And the table finally arriving at the end.

DISCLAIMER: If this blog post makes me seem ungrateful: I'm not! I'm really thankful for each and every one of you!
When Christiaan and I started this Patreon, our expectations were high. A bit too high maybe. We expected tons of people to read our comics somewhere on the internet (that happened) and flock here to support us financially (that didn't happen).
We did get some support right off the bat though. Our early Patrons consisted of few groups of people:
- Two of the...

However, I had help by our new intern, Merel! She did the color fills and the coloring of the line art :) Thanks thanks thanks!

A year-old comic, revamped! I considered this my Chef d'Oeuvre, but I never found the right moment to upload it. Now, a year later, I absolutely hate my style from a year ago, so I gave the comic a big update. I really recommend checking out the progress pictures, but you gotta pledge 5 dollars to see those, haha.

I love goodbyes. I don't like saying goodbye, but I get all hyped when someone leaves to go study abroad or travel around the world or something. Not because I hate their gut and I want to get rid of them, but because I think a proper goodbye can be a beautifully interesting occassion. People being happy and sad at the same time, the person who is leaving being all cool and chill but tearing up at the end, the cup of coffee at the airport afterwards... Frodo saying goodbye to Sam, ...

It's moments like these that make it all worth it! Yesterday, our interns Coen Balkestein and Luuk van Eck finished their internship after months of drawing, coding and Smashing. As a thank-you gift, Abel drew a picture of the whole gang chilling and playing Super Smash Bros. Without knowing, Coen and Luuk had the exact same idea and gave us the same picture with a different art style!
Thank you, guys! Don't be strangers!

STARRING: Reddit users Zephyr42 (who gave me a cool EV-trained Rowlet, guy with the dark blue shirt) and Mult1Core (who gave me Pokerus, dude with the beard). Also, JHall is in there because while drawing, I noticed this comic was basically turning out to be a ripoff of this awesome comic of his: http://www.dorkly.com/post/81959/pokemon-sun-playthrough-episode-6, so I gave him a little "tr...

Hy guys,
This blog post will be a shorter one since we're currently pretty busy finishing a first complete test build of Judge Mental, finalizing all the paperwork and contracts that are part of it, getting verified by some subreddit mods and preparing some content for a small educational conference later this week where we'll be displaying a short demo of a workshop that we designed for kids ranging from around 7-10 years old.
After about 4 months we're really close to finalyzing ...

Hi! Hope you all had a good holiday. I spend New Year's eve in Berlin, which was awesome. Other than that, I didn't really have any free time because of the animated short we released two weeks ago and the comic that had to be made last week. Still, I had one free day last Friday, and it was amazing.
(This is me being self-deprecating. FEEL SORRY FOR ME.)
Anyway, the short didn't do as well as I hoped it would. I thought a general theme like 2016 and all it's craziness would do well...

I spend New Year's in Berlin with friends and my two brothers. They reminded me of these horrible moments during our childhood. This is why they never got the good controller.
Still, if that's my biggest childhood trauma, I shouldn't complain.

Here it is! After weeks of hard work (in secret), we bring you - instead of the usual weekly comic - Wooden Plank Studios' first animated short: 2016's Wild Ride. Coen contributed A LOT to the animation and backgrounds, so thanks man :)
It's chock-full of references and easter eggs. I'm willing to bet you won't find them all even if you try your best!
