Ohno, I actually have to do the thing.
Okay! So this is what we are going to do for this first one as I find my feet with it and the practical realities that I'll run into as I work on stuff.

I will stream on the 24th, In place of a normal Saturday stream. I am not going to worry about making it private for now, but I'll ensure that all requests during the stream is coming from patrons.

Lets do some plotting! This will be a process until I figure it out completely, and I will wait until all of the payments are processed before I look into starting it properly. I intend to create a comic where Nicole gets suited up as a union member of the trashpanda corps. This is going to take a bit of lead time and prep so I am going to start working on it through September so that hopefully it will be done in October.

Bugs get to be small. Very smol. Still relatively terrifyingly huge.
also decided to just throw up my hands and say bugs can have either leg/arm arrangements because why not. Manatear is a setting of whynot, just throw it in.

Slatepaw references - Part 1

Not an exclusive, but cross posting it to patreon for redundancy. Slatepaws are in wider setting outside of the Manatear. They can readily be a shape within the Manatear. They get to be one of the weird examples of a mostly representative shape that is "on model" with non-spellfluxed examples.

Monthly topic - August

Alright! Theme is "Harvester Hive" which means we are doing bugs bugs bugs bugs.

I'll also expand on how harvester type monsters work because they are not exclusive to bugs but is helpful for explaining how types of monsters work.

Of the bug themes I'll intend to do some pieces for stylized bugs and more realistic bugs, and maybe some bug society nonsense. Honey pot ants are definitely going to be presented.

Manatear - Harvesters

Harvesters are a category like swarms. Not locked to any one thematic category. But these guys are the ones that will mug you and steal your backpockets for all your spare essence and leave you in the alleyway. Or steal you away and throw you in their webs as a snack or whathaveyou.

Manatear - Cerberus

I came up with these guys a long while early on in the manatear's original set of ideas. I do need to draw a not pooltoy version though.

Nicole - Snake Envelop

Not every synthetic material critter is a drone. Some are just rando snakes that will try to subsume you. She'll get better later.

Not strictly a part of the monthly theme but definitely gets to be a part of the week early access.

Muses are at least within the same power scale of spellfluxed, but are far more temperamental and are quite prone to forming petty grudges.

But if you got the right tone of voice to get through the encounter you're probably fine. Just...Give them the pocket change, the ones outside of towns and cities have no reference point of value of currency.

Dook swarms are one of the first rando "Monsters" that I came up with after manatear became a proper setting.

Shale Reference - 2022

Shale! He's a noodle! He isn't actually spellfluxed but in the soft canon of "I want to draw this for fun" he'll get to interact with everyone. He is from the wider setting though. He lives in the Silver Coast coalition area if you recall the region map I arted.

I am sensing a pose trend, I will see if I can break out of it after this though.

The idea of big scary December using the undersized mask to shrink to below half their normal size is just aplus to me.

Chaujen reference 2022

Here's Chaujen who is a run away of middling importance from mildly important bureaucratic family in the Wah Dynasties. He is a professional wayfinder for SRRO and checks paths after regional flux events.

Chaujen must have been hit by something goofy that surprised him. He must have struggled to drag the one non-readily replacable piece of a equipment home without leverage or hands.

Daisy is just living for it though, being 2ft tall means that it's very rare that she gets to be eye to eye.

Nicole Reference 2022

Also including older Nicole refs. Nicole has been an Ex-human spellfluxed for 99% of her existence, there may have been a brief period where she manifested without that context.

Hans reference - 2022

I figure I should post all references I make on here as well. Here's his older one as a comparison point from 2019. The gradual art shift over time is pretty fascinating to me. I also just wanted to align his design with the pngtuber I made and used on stream all the time.
