Kaylee set test

So I'm testing out a new Los Angeles set, which has much higher-resolution models of the area around the skyscrapers.  It has more than twice as many polygons as the last LA map, even though it's only about a quarter of the size (which you can see in the third picture.)

I put the set in two different scenes and I'm trying to decide which one to use. The first pic is a simpler set with just the HD downtown model and matte fog. It's EXTREMELY fast to render (like 2-3 minutes in 4K.)<...

Kaylee 18: now with smog!

It always bugged me that I could never get the smog to look right in previous Kaylee chapters, but the new versions of DAZ has a tool called Atmospheric Ground Fog that's really powerful. I spent a few hours playing around with it, and not only can I now get extra-dense low-lying smog in the scene, but the atmospheric fog in general looks a million times better than before. I also lowered the sun a bit, it's getting closer to nightfall.

So a quick update: I'm up to 105 completed renders for Grudge Match 3, including the 35-page flashback sequence, and I've finished most of what I had planned for the big climactic action scene. Now I'm going to go back and fill in the earlier story stuff that I initially skipped over!

Grudge Match preview

So I'm scaling things back a bit from my original outline, which was way too complicated and ambitious. The new outline has a couple short scenes with Ann that pick up shortly after Grudge Match 2. Hey, it's been a few days since release so I thought I'd ask what you thought of this month's comics! Hopefully you enjoyed them, but is there anything in particular you liked or disliked? Grudge Match flashback scene

This is the only part of the comic that was rendered with the old models. I rendered this about three years ago! It's a little over 30 pages long, and takes place a while before Squash Match 1 and 2, back when Ann was "legit" and performing in front of bigger audiences. It's a very fun wrestling sequence if I can say so myself!

There's also another short scene that I rendered in Poser, but that one honestly isn't great and I want to redo it and take things in a different direction.

Additions and changes:

Pgs 11 and 15-19 have better smoke effects

Pgs 33-45 have better improved materials in some shots, and a few other changes

Pgs 52 has been redone with better smoke effects

Pgs 85-92 (complete edition only) are a new sequence, as well as some changes to the text for 84 and 93. 

pg 100 (complete) or 92 (cowards edition) has a new render with a POV ...

Kaylee 17 preview

So things are taking a bit longer than planned. As I go through the comic, I noticed some renders where things needed to be redone. I updated quite a few of them, including this one, which had an extremely blurry and pixelated texture on the nipples before. Fixing it involved making a new texture, doing a few render passes, and a couple hours of photoshop work. Also I'm redoing the smoke effects in a few of the close-up shots, and re-rendering with better quality grass in the neighborhood sce...

Tiffany and Brandi Genesis 8 test

It's probably more for shits and giggles than anything, but I did some test renders of a Genesis 8 version of Tiffany and Brandi from Junkyard Girls. More of a reimagining than anything... I couldn't find any 1:1 HD version of Tiffany's hair so I used a different style that's similarly trashy. (BTW, that's what Kaylee's hairstyle looked like before I morphed the hell out of it!)

I put this together about a month ago and never got around to uploading it! Probably not the update you were hoping for, but I figure some of you will think it's cool. Why? I just thought the mood and lighting in that chapter lent itself to a black and white look

Ann G8/V4 comparison

Processing is a bit slow, it might be a few hours before I can send out rewards, but here's a test of two versions of Ann side by side! I know the left one still needs some work to look more like the original character, but the difference in the level of detail is pretty insane.

Ann Genesis 8 test

What do you think? I know the face needs some work but I feel like the body is close. This is after a time-skip where she's had some time to beef up.

The skin texture is just Kaylee's with a darker overlay, hopefully that's not too obvious! But that's in keeping with Ann's appearance in the Squash Match series. I didn't have any dark skin texture packs at the time so I just photoshopped a very light-skinned texture back to make it darker

So I might have to do another staggered release for Kaylee 17. Even though the renders are done, the script is still being finished and I have a lot of photoshop stuff to do, and I don't know if I can wrap it up in a few days. That said, I'm confident that I can get at least the first half out... and that's going to be 100+ pages. It also includes most (EDIT: not all) of the previews I've shared outside of the thumbnails in that one promo thing.

I might have a Kaylee addiction

After making a big thing about how this chapter was probably going to be shorter than the last few, and future chapters of Kaylee might be less than 200 pages... I currently have 211 completed renders and I'm going to be adding at least one or two more!

In this one (which isn't one of the new additions FWIW), Kaylee notices that while everyone else is running away, one man is staring at her and doing something inappropriate...
