Kaylee 16 preview and update

TLDR: I'm probably going to be releasing a 90 page slice of Kaylee 16 tomorrow instead of the full thing, and release the rest later. Girl's Night is already complete and will come out on time though!

So the comics are turning out nicely, but the end of the month is coming with the speed of a runaway freight train, and a few wrenches got throw in the gears. About 85-90% of the renders are final for Kaylee, but Girl's Night needs a bunch of re-renders to fix some glitches, and the script is only about a quarter of the way done. I messed up the scales a bit in Kaylee 16!

How big is the difference? Kayla spends most of the chapter at a little over 200 feet when she should be closer to 300 feet, and Kaylee is about 1200 feet tall when she should be over 1500 feet. That sounds like a big difference, but in terms of how they look it's actually pretty subtle, especially with Kaylee... which is why I was able to render most of the comic without noticing, and nobody called it from looking at the previews! I think what happened is that the sizes in the first preview ...

Thinking I'll take a break from Kaylee after this chapter

For a few reasons. 

First, I want to do some more chapters of OAG. Why not just release chapters of OAG in between chapters of Kaylee, you ask? 

That brings me to the second reason: I keep getting behind schedule while working on Kaylee chapters. The last three chapters of Kaylee (including the one I'm working on now) have taken 5+ weeks to make, which the last time I checked is longer than a month.

Girl's Night updated preview

Had to change the redhead's hairstyle again because the last one was causing problems, but I think this character design fits better!

Nerdy girl character test

The previous version of the redhead (which you can see in the previous render) felt like more of a middle-aged Mom than the stereotypically nerdy 19-year old she's supposed to be. I think the new design fits a lot better! The other characters are going to stay the same as they looked in the previous version.

Kaylee 16 preview

Man I'm really loving how all the renders this chapter are turning out! I've been planning on doing the highway scene for ages, it's great to see it finally come to fruition.

Kaylee 16 - Deep focus

Depth of field is something that I really felt was missing in the last couple chapters of Kaylee, so I'm going to be playing around with it a lot more this time. It's a bit of a pain to set up but you can get some really cool effects with it! There's depth of field in each of the 20 or so shots I've rendered so far, although it's much more apparent in some shots than others.
