Just thought I would give an update as I haven't in a while.

For the last several weeks, I've been spending an ungodly amount of time going back and editing old chapters, aiming to eventually post all of them here. And, as I am writing this, I am about to go edit chapter 83.

I am not changing the plot of the story, so don't feel the need to re-read, but I'm fixing the language to make things clearer, adding more worldbuilding at the right places to make the magic system make more ...

I got inspired today to update the start of Memoirs of the Ascended, one of the novels I plan to write in the future, and would love your inputs if anyone wants to read it.

I especially want to know if adding a bit more of the framing device makes the first chapter easier to read.

I realized this week I was getting lost in the middle of To Kill a Fox and Eat God, so I have temporarily stopped writing that story and am instead working on a full outline, with several problems already fixed.

As for Shadow of the Soul King, I hope everyone enjoys this week's chapter. I like writing friendship scenes and scenes of character growth.

I'm also thinking about going back and editing chapters of Shadow of the Soul King, so any input on what worked or what didn't would...

Martial World is really good and going to bed earlier didn't help me actually write more.

I think part of it is that I'm not as excited by To Kill a Fox and Eat God as I am about Shadow of the Soul King. I keep finding myself thinking about the latter even when I'm reading another story and I've come up with a lot of good ideas.

This week was fun. I stayed with my girlfriend for most of the week, not enabling me as much writing time as usual, but I still got one new chapter of To Kill a Fox and Eat god written, along with editing all previous chapters to move the timing of the main action to later in the day.

Next week you can look forward to a whole bunch more backstory for the character of Malic via a magical dream talent. It should be awesome.

It's now time to start working more on To Kill a Fox and Eat God! Yay! It's been a while.

I've now written enough Shadow of the Soul King to last everyone for a few months and it has been so fun.

I've finally set up the overarching villains in the story, people I've hinted at since day one, so, even while we are nowhere close to being done, maintaining the plot progression will be much easier now as Mila can't be quite as proactive all the time.

This week I've been working on probably the darkest moment in Shadow of the Soul King, which you'll be able to read once I publish chapter 215. And it is always harder to write scenes like this, so I got a bit less writing done in pure word count than I was expecting this week.

Still, I think it's quite cool, and I now have the next few arcs of Shadow of the Soul King fully mapped out.

Now it is time for me to write a few more wrap up chapters and I'll be done with the auction arc...

Shadow of the Soul King is now on the road to what will probably be one of its darkest moments, and that's fun to write. And I've ben able to write a pretty big backlog over the last few weeks, so I should be able to start on To Kill a Fox and Eat God again starting in early December.

So, with chapter 200, we have ended this arc of Shadow of the Soul King.

And now we move onto the auction arc which has been teased for nearly 100 chapters.

The emotional stuff near the end there was hard to write, and I hope I did a good job. And I hope you all like Joma, as she will be a main character going forward.

As for writing this week, I got quite a lot done, finishing four new chapters reintroducing the main cast after a 6 year time skip, but I haven't been able to...

So, I'm in the mode of building up enough chapters in my own backlog so I can continue to work on To Kill a Fox and Eat God, thus only one chapter of Shadow of the Soul King today.

But chapter 200 next week will be the end of this arc and after that we will have a timeskip followed by a couple chapters of setting up the characters as they are  before starting the universal auction and the terrible events that follow from that.
