Lot of time went into this. And lots of Layer management. I'm still figuring out Grays-to-Color when it comes to multiples alts. Its a bit tricky and time consuming. Either way, the coloring and rendering takes less time so it only makes sense for a downside to even up the process.

So, i tried the Grays-to-Color method again and it went much better the this time. It saves SO MUCH TIME. Again, I'm rendering everything on one layer with grayscale first, then plugging in the main colors over the base and adjusting the shading on the rendering layer. IT REALLY HELPS IF ALL YOUR LINES ARE CLOSED so you can magic wand select...

Tried a new shading method for Krystal's skin this time. I went for the Gray-to-Color method. Staring off with a gray base and on a new layer continued with grayscale. When everything was relatively done i replaced the base and shading layers with the right colors and adjustments. It was interesting. Its not saved...

Happy February everyone. Let’s breakdown what’s been happening.
-Art has been pretty slow lately. Even tho I made like 4 finished pieces last month, I’ve felt extremely sluggish. It’s been tough trying to get comfortable drawing again.
-I mentioned on Twitter that the recent YCH Commissions were a nice change of pace so I’ll think about doing more in the future. And I’ve recently gotten multiple DMs about regular Comms, so those will be opening soon this month.

This was a drawing where everything seemed to click with me when coloring. I genuinely think how I render characters depends on who they are. For instance, Marie is a cartoony, squid person, so lets not try to go ham on the shading and keep things relatively smooth...or just got lucky :/
