The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 07/March/2025

After finishing a lot of the complicated game mechanic/dialogue scenes last week, it was nice to work on a lighter ‘in between’ scene this week!

This chapter and the last have done a lot of setting up and explaining of what’s coming and how the player’s choices are going to play into it as the game progresses.

But this scene I got to get some love interest interactions in during it which is always a favourite, hehe! :D

Mishka has had a pretty awful week I'm afraid, after loosing two of her wonderful pets within a couple of days of each other, so she's taking some time - she's taken it pretty hard.

Another serious week of getting the writing done!

In fact, it was so good, I’m already on the endings of this chapter! There are three different variations depending on the branch the player has chosen in an earlier choice, but the fact I’m already on the endings is so motivating! Definitely ahead of schedule and starting to see some real push forward. Was so worth doing the mop-up stuff at the beginning of the year so as I could focus pretty much solely on the book!

Oh man, it was good to get back to just the writing this week! And it was flowing this week! I don’t know what it was, but I was IN THE ZONE, lol! :D

There was less branching at the beginning of this chapter which helped, but there was a variation at the start to account for a small friend scene that was just really nice. Like…just a wonderful moment of seeing where the team is with the MC outside of the romantic path or necessarily the BFF.

It worked out well this week, as I hurt my wrist last week, so was struggling a bit with typing. But it actually meant I was forced to work on edits :D
