I was getting ready to pump and they must’ve smelled the milk because as I was about to start pumping to see how much milk I’m actually producing after 4 years of breastfeeding (remember babies always know how to pull more milk out so pumping doesn’t always tell how much milk is being produced. Some women must hand express to truly empty the breast fully. ) The girls nursed for 15 or so minutes so it’s best to wait a bit so the breast can make more milk for the next down for pumping. ...

...and can be quite painful. To relieve pain it is best to leave the nipple out as even loose fitting clothing can cause irritation to a nipple during a Vasospasm. The vasospasm is the white part as pictured and can become more white as it develops. When the vessels go back to normal the nipple goes back to it’s original appearance and the irritation and pain subside. Vasospasms from breastfeeding 🤱 can be strange. They can happen during, right after or even minutes after a feeding. To avoid them being really painful it is best to allow nipples to air dry fully and not wear tight restricting clothing after a feeding. A loose shirt or oversized sports bra usually works best for me.
