One of my favorite part of the original game, River City Ransom, was the RPG mechanics. You could go into shops and buy inventory, often revolving around food. I was specifically fond of the pound cake, which had awesome buffs for your character.

Misako is such a fun character. The anime and comic book cut-scenes in the game are hilarious and the girls are instantly likeable. If you are looking for a good old fashioned beat-em-up game with a fresh coat of paint, and an awesome soundtrack (the mall music is amazing!) then this is the game for you!

I find myself inspired by video games, and much like Resident Evil, and Persona 5 inspired me, so too, did River City Girls. Similar to Persona 5, I had played the original game way back in my childhood never knowing that the fond River City Ransom had in fact gone on to become a series. It wasn't until this delightful brawler starring the the girlfriends of the tough guys from the original game did I learn any of this.
Suffice to say, I loved the nostalgic throwback to a childhood game...

Emily Lockwood might be the great Girl Detective out there in Greenfield, but down here at the bottom of the ocean, one wrong choice can remind her that she's just prey!
Hopefully you completed Emily's latest adventure without meeting too many untimely ends, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did. After all, Emily is pretty good at blundering her cases. That's okay. There's always the "Try Again?" feature!
