Commission raffle ideas...

I'd like to get back into taking commissions semi-regularly at some point in the hopefully-not-too-distant future, and I've got a couple ideas for how this could go in a way that's maybe more accessible for more folks.

First option would be some form of "make a donation to -insert charity/organization-" of some minimum amount (~$5 USD?) to enter, maybe with the option for an extra entry if you donate more (say, $10+) and the winner can choose any commission type from the menu on my View Post

Sketch page: scum and villainy

Ideas for minor characters in scifi AU; lots of outlaws and bounty hunters in the cast which works out great for me because they match my aesthetic (tired and rumpled).

Also I just love leopard seals a lot. They are so scary. They didn't need to be that scary. Love that for them.

I dunno, gravity?

Good time to remind that Indy is Maui's OC and you can find them on Bluesky (recent art) and Patreon (library of work, including 18+ content)

Day 31 -- Tradition

"How many of these do we need to carve...?"
"Mmm... maybe a few dozen to be safe. The more turnips, the better the ward against spirits."
"Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to for some All Hallow's decorations."
"...What's All Hallows?"

Accidentally'd two Hadreon pieces right next to each other. I don't usually draw these prompts in order and didn't notice :P Gid (left) belongs to Maui View Post

Day 30 -- Golden Hues

Mining amber from dead ancient trees is a controversial practice in the deep woods; much is still unknown about the longterm effects of exposure to the arcane substance, but because of its subtle glow and warmth, so similar to that of sunlight, deep woods amber remains highly prized and jealously guarded by any that can obtain it who live below the canopies, where true sunlight is never seen by most.

Halloween hiatus

Taking the week off from comic updates! Pages will resume next Wednesday as usual. Have a lovely Halloween weekend, stay safe and stay spooky, eat some pumpkin guts and be merry!

Day 29 -- Winged Things

Hadreon found that practicing his reading was much easier with an audience. Someone had to keep the doves up to date on the weekly rag, after all.

Day 28 -- Quills

Inoculation against the scur infection required harvesting material fresh from the source.

The barista at one of our regular coffee joints unexpectedly came by our booth while I was working on this and was like "aw you always draw neat stuff :)" and basically now I can never show my face there again

Day 27 -- Heirloom

Cloaks of protection were most effective if the garment enchanted with protection magic held a great amount of sentimental value; the more care, the stronger the enchantment. For an apprentice witch leaving home for the first time, an old family quilt would be more resilient than any armor (and cozier, too).

Day 26 -- Crisp

The centerpiece of any deep woods feast: a thick-crusted loaf of painted bread. The glossier and more needlessly sculptural, the better.

Ironclaw token portraits

Ink sketches for battle tokens in a pal's tabletop game. I knew there was no chance I'd find the time to finish these if I was coloring digitally so I made use of the limited selection of alcohol markers at my disposal; really love the texture that you get with these even on basic printer paper, even if ideally I'd have a few more shades to work with. Might expand the collection if I wind up making more :)

I attached the full resolution images in case any of them might come in handy for...

"Annnd BAM! Aww. Death card again. Bum luck."
"Does Mom know you're doing this occult stuff?"
"Does Mom know you let me drink espresso?"

"Listen, I think the harvest pageant is stupid but no sister of mine is going to be an under-laced Pumpkin Queen."

Day 22 -- Antlers

Male beetles were often cheaper to obtain than females due to the sheer impracticality of having a beast of burden with so many chitinous points to snag on every branch and vine it passed by (among other things).

Day 14 -- Foliage

Even the mundane fauna residing in the Fallows hide behavioral quirks that only appear certain times of year, such as the common pied robin, which adorns its feathers with the brightest leaves it can find among the autumn foliage in hopes of attracting a mate.
