It's a two-parter and OH is it a two-parter! We get BOTH Natori and Matoba this week as Natsume is tugged into an ordeal with the exorcists -- can he resist Matoba's requests while simultaneously helping to solve a mystery?
Season 5 is really making these characters look too good, y'all...this was maybe one of the more intense set of Natsume episodes yet!

So, this week, I prepare some Onigiri as seen in Episode 16 of Dungeon Meshi! I made a lot of these during "Shelter in Place" in 2020...but I maaaay have forgotten a crucial step in this process...

First we learn about Anshi, the Dowager Empress, but this episode, MaoMao is solving a mystery connecting her to the Late Emperor, and Ooooohhh, the family drama in this series is intense, y'all!
Anshi is NOT to be trifled with and I am in love with her layered character! It's also good to know that MaoMao literally has the approval to be with Jinshi from the entire royal family...now she just needs to realize it for herself!

We're starting off season 5 so well, but show - you are not going to claim tears from me YET! This little yokai was 100% PRECIOUS and her story of finding closure through kindness was so sweet!
Also, I finish reviewing Volume 12 of the manga and rounding out what is anime only, and what is not, for season 3 and 4 of the anime! Let's go!

Did I spend 35 minutes recapping Volume 4-9? Yes, because Phos's journey NEEDED to be reviewed before going back to the Moon after their failed attempt to reach Sensei and get him to pray for the Lunarians.
All I can say is that this volume went so far beyond what I expected -- I FEEL for Phos so much, I am so insanely curious about Aechmea and Sensei's "secrets" we still don't know, and I was not ready for the plot of this volume!

The Inter-High Matches are building towards the SemiFinals and it's a free for all, but Smile is sorting himself to the top of his bracket...he just has to face Sanada now!

There are episodes sometimes in anime that are just...flawless. This is one of them - particularly a 10 minute segment that reduced me to a puddle of emotions. I did not see backstory of a ghost being as powerful as it was but here we are!
Oh, and Ken and Momo are still adorable and there were some crazy twists this week! Let's talk about this masterpiece of an episode!
