*FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF HEADPHONE WARNINGS*
I'm still in a state of shock, if I'm honest. L has been my favorite character in this series, and only now, at this episode does it hit that Light definitely would kill his "only friend" for the sake of becoming a "god of the new world."
This episode has been my favorite of the series and the best L's looked. His final shot kills me: L in Light's arms...an angel looking up into the face of a demon.

We look at the final one-shot from Fujimoto before his series Chainsaw Man comes out and even though I had originally looked at it in 2021, re-reading it after over a year was still SUCH an emotional experience...
Fujimoto is such a great mangaka in terms of crafting stories with powerful emotion and capitalizing on minimalism and now I am very excited for what's to come!

I have had this OVA on my desktop for nearly TWO YEARS and I've finally gotten around to watching it and it was SO SWEET and touching!
A nice story based off of a light novel involving loss, grief, and finding ourselves after a loss, but done in a brief, cute fashion with the faintest hint of BL. Definitely a nice one-shot OVA to watch!

The story takes a FASCINATING twist as we get revelations about our "Bandage Boy," The White Calamity, Hua Cheng, and Xie Lian -- who is apparently REALLY into swords. *ahem*
