Like a cool island breeze, mon...

It's always great to come home to Las Vegas, but I am missing some of my cruising daily rituals! Like having coffee and croissants on my balcony staring at the beautiful Caribbean. Working out with incredible views. Spending lazy afternoons soaking up the sun and sipping yummy drinks, like a Creamsicle cocktail that tastes just like the popsicle!

Dinners were delicious and I felt so pampered being served daily. I enjoyed sipping on Buffalo Trace with a tasty spinach filled appetizer and opted for the Chef's special of shrimp and pasta at the French inspired dining room called Normandie. When I couldn't decide on dessert, the servers would bring me both so I didn't have to☺️ In todays pics it was the Sacher Torte and the Mille Feuille. One of the servers was from Argentina and we had fun chatting about all the treats we miss from there.

The ship was Celebrity Beyond ~the third ship in their Edge series. It is beautiful, very comfortable with lots of interesting spaces to hang out, and options of things to do while sailing. It traveled to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale. I never get tired of looking at beautiful blue oceans.

Back...

I'm back in Las Vegas, but I think I need a vacation from my vacation. Traveling can be stressful when things don't go the way they're supposed to, but I'm glad to finally be back. I spent a little longer today getting started, but I'm ready for a great week. 💋

That's a wrap...

This is my closing ceremony...not quite the Olympics but I had some epic views both large and small. I soaked up the sun and made a few friends along the way. As the moon was riding high over the ocean, I said goodnight to a fun vacation. Right now, I'm actually on my way back to Las Vegas.

Cruisin

This muse had a beautiful day at sea. Lots of libations and plenty of sunshine. Had the most delicious dinner of octopus followed by cello in moonlight. I have to say that it's been super relaxing and I even think I got a little sun. 💋

Pirate Bunny

I can't get over how beautiful the water is. I'm already making plans to come back and do some diving. The weather has been wonderful and very relaxing. No stress, Mon!

Not to worry; I'll be back in my garters soon. Hope everyone is having a good week. 💋

Grand Cayman

I'm presently docked in the Grand Cayman. My whiskey choices were a little limited, but they did have Angel's Envy which made me smile. Fortunately, the big storm by-passed the ship. I was a little nervous there for awhile and the weather so far has been beautiful. I do have to tell you that American cruises tend to be a little more intoxicated than the European ships from what I've experienced. Much livelier crowd. 😂 Cheers! 💋

My girls feel a little cramped in this ship's cabin, but maybe I'll just go natural in Cozumel and let. them breathe. 😉 💋

Whiskey Wednesday

Recently, I got to enjoy one of the best Italian restaurants in Las Vegas..Piero's. All I can say is "WOW" It's a an old school restaurant that has seen it's share of celebrities both famous and infamous. I started off the evening with a cocktail and oysters. I had an Angel's Envy Paper Plane that was delicious and refreshing on a very hot summer day. You may also notice that this is one of the few times that I went out without stockings.

The food is very traditional and the portions are not small. I had the shrimp scampi and I have to tell you that I took half of it home. Even the bread was amazing. A glass of wine with dinner and there wasn't room for dessert.

There's a story that the restaurant had a few unsavory articles written about it because of the infamous guests and that there was some monkey business going on. So, the restaurant decided to embrace it and decorated the bar and entrance with monkeys, which I loved. It's hilarious and fun. If you're ever in Vegas or live here, it's an absolute must. Needless to say, it was a wonderful evening. I really hope you enjoy the photos and be sure to look at the list of guests.

Happy Monday!

It's a wonderful day to wake up to some beautiful sunshine and a bit cooler temperatures. Who would have ever thought that 106 F or 41 C for a high would feel cool. I'll absolutely take it.

Hope your weekend was restful and enjoyable. I'm super excited about the Olympics and especially the swimmers. It's incredible how fast they've become especially the young athletes. They have some big futures ahead of them. Cheers to all of your favorite athletes and what a wonderful opening ceremony. Loved every bit of it. 💋

It's a tub thing...

I bet most of you don't know that I'm absolutely in love with tubs. Very early on, I would stay in the tub forever. Then I learned the joys of powerful faucets and my mother kept asking me what was taking so long.

So, in every suite, if I get a chance, it's tub time. I love to soak those aching muscles and joints after being in crazy positions for so long. Now, if you would only join me, we could have tub time together. 💋

Whiskey Wednesday

Today’s Whiskey Wednesday is Horse Soldier Reserve Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey ~gifted to me by my sweet & kind whiskey lover friend from Southern California.  According to Horse Soldier's website, this reserve edition is “extraordinarily complex with notes of butterscotch, oak, and stone fruits. This barrel strength “wheated” bourbon is made from small batches of meticulously blended mature bourbon and non-chill filtered to provide a full-bodied and decadent finish.”

Back stories in the world of spirits always make them a little bit more interesting. American Freedom Distillery, located in St. Petersberg, Florida is a group of ex-Special Forces veterans, noted both in recent military history and the movie “12 Strong” for being among the first on the ground in Afghanistan post-9/11. They turned their collective skills learned during military service into the foundations of what they hoped would be a successful distillery operation. The mission statement and inspiration for the distillery is “Legendary men, legendary spirits.” It is an ode to their fellow service men and women, as well as a dedication to their current craft.

"As you might gather, the name of the bourbon, Horse Soldier is a referral to those Green Berets that entered Afghanistan shortly after 9/11 via horseback on a daring mission. These brave men are honored today by the America’s Response Monument at Ground Zero. Nicknamed the Horse Soldiers, these same men make the bottle in your hand with the image of this statue.” On the front of the bottle is a metal plate with an engraved image of the statue found at the monument, making it unmistakable.” ~ The Whiskey Wash

I learned a big lesson with this whiskey. Always look at the proof! This one is 124 and you feel it right off the bat .😚 It’s a little much for me neat, but so much better when I added ice and a bit of water. Plus, what a great story behind it! Cheers 🥃

Nose: Boozy up front, brown sugar, with a hint of toasted oak.

Palate: Rich, with a punchy baking spice to start, a bit of heat, finishing with subtle molasses flavors. The addition of a touch of water opens up the whiskey, giving it more depth, with dark fruit flavors emerging from the background.

Whiskey Wednesday

Bouchon

I had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite places to dine. Bouchon, inside the Venetian hotel is an elegant, yet casual French bistro. Of course, I had to start with a glass of refreshing champagne and a delicious cheeseboard. That was followed with pastry wrapped escargot. I couldn’t make a decision, there were too many good choices! So the decision was made to share the steak frites and gnocchi. Suffice it to say, there was no room for dessert, which made me very disappointed, but I’ll just have to go back! A delicious Amaro to end the meal and satisfy my sweet tooth.
