Whenever I write stuff for Blood Money -- the fictitious game Hotaru and her crew are a part of -- I remember that this belongs to the same series where kappas exist and where a giant, golden version of Osaka Castle exists under the original one.
What I'm saying is "a rich British-Indian PhD student asking a girl gang made up of a hostess, an office worker, a beautician and only one actual criminal to help her find out who killed her boyfriend" is probably not even that strange.
