after i worked on the seagod i went back to my unfinished folios and started to apply the same principle of making my work flow more efficient, and maybe a bit better.
qhat i did was a screen cap with out textures of the two characters, then make sure the line work is sufficiently tight without going too far. then i used hatching and further line work to set up where i want the shadows to be.
by defining the shadows on this stage of the drawing i won't have to keep going back over ...

still a bit sketchy but refined enough to read
so i went through and did the same thing i did with the last folio with just 2 changes. the first is i went through a few more layers of refinement on the line work. taking as much of the sketchyness out as possible. normally i go for a slightly sketchy line work then after i do the underpainting i merge the layers and paint the color and linework on one layer.
the second thing i did was add in those fancy brushes again this time on their own layer. the goal was to get ...
