Hello Steel Hard patrons! I've been quite busy keeping the project Star Love Zero Gravity on schedule. I would like to share this cute animatic for the first half of the animation. The storyboards can be a real challenge to make, considering storytelling elements and trimming unnecessary scenes. I use a shorthand drawing, which unintentionally makes the characters cute.
A lot of animation cleanup has been done on these scenes, but I am not quite happy with some of the expressions....

Here is the latest work in progress, involving something I haven't animated before, a three-way kiss!
This animation was more dependent on the voice acting, so I had to wait for all the VA's to deliver their lines before starting this. So this WIP features voices, from my recently announced actors, Small Lizard, Pyre, and Kyle Davis.

It's time for sharing some more progress. These are potentially the most difficult scenes in the project, so it feels good to tackle these first, and they are turning out better than I expected.

I just started animating yesterday and couldn't wait to share this with you. I can't believe I somehow was able to rough out this scene in one day! While I am tempted to go right ahead and clean this up, I should try and rough out some more scenes just to get a feel of how much work there is. I don't want to get too carried away! Things are coming along with this project, and it is shaping up to be something quite different. By sacrificing cel-shading, I can make more drawings and more movement.
You may notice some of the drawings are at varying stages of looseness. I am still trying to figure out some expressions and timing, and that will depend on the voice acting. Overall I'm very happy with how this animation is shaping up; it will be a breeze cleaning up the linework this weekend.
