Shrinking Nightmare Update

   Finally, back to Shrinking Nightmare!

   Some of you may remember early screenshots of this character from quite awhile back. I knew it would be a challenging one, and hadn't touched this animation in a long time... until recently. And then I struggled to get the ball rolling. Lots of moving parts to sync up. And then, a lot has changed since the initial work I did for this one. I'm updating this scene to 4k and that's a pretty big upgrade from 720p! It'...

Vignette #1 - Sneeze

A short nose-focused scene that was originally filmed for a cancelled project. POV and 3rd person.

The first of a series of isolated and basic clips. These will provide an alternative to throwing out good or decent footage that wasn't able to be used in the context of any other project.

The recent poll results were overwhelmingly in favor of quitting the mini-animation schedule.

Going forward, my animation goals are pretty straightforward: 

1) Continue this month's mini-animation. 

2) Always have an animation project to be focused on.

3) Work on the animation until it's done. The longer and more ambitious, the longer it should take.

Animations?

First off, I appreciate everyone here. But, after a year of giving my all to monthly animations and the rest of my work... I can't help but reflect.

Monthly Animations of any kind of quality or presentation are not something you see often, and it's because animation is very time-consuming. A minute of full character and environment animation is weeks of work. 

I can make an animation each month, but it still doesn't cater to everyone. It's still not long enough. It's not quit...

March Mini - Preview

As a result of last month's vote, the March Mini will feature the giantess from "Last Morsel". As I played with ideas for what to do next with this character, I realized that she might not have a shrunken city in her first animation... she might be an actual mega giantess! You're never really sure, but now we can see just how big she's becoming...

Ramping Up

My thoughts and sympathies are with anyone suffering from the times we live in; for any reason, really. Things have been rough in too many ways.

In some areas, things are starting to look up, with restrictions loosening and vaccines rolling out. It's becoming safer and more "legal" for filming... So, on a lighter note, in the spirit of optimism, I think it's past time for some updates.

New Fx Clip - Micro Cities - Alternate POV Edits

Here are two newly edited POV scenes from footage left over from Mitzi's Micro Cities. They are two barefoot crush scenes. The footage didn't fit in with the original edit, and they each have different dialogue. I tried to apply some new FX and color techniques, and I think they came out pretty cool.

A Few Thoughts...

Going into 2021 I saw a lot of promise on the horizon. I still do. In some ways, exciting future plans started to unfold behind the scenes, without immediate payoffs. Maybe, to some, things feel like business as usual, which could be a good thing. But then, where is Shrinking Nightmare? Etc etc.

Things seem to move in slow motion when improvements are thrown into the pipeline, but the monthly schedule is something that I try to keep largely consistent. Currently, what else am I doing? ...

Sequel Vote - Star Patrons

Decide March's mini-animation! Due to constant requests, I've decided to start looking at making continuations of mini-animations, rather than just use a character one time. This may be direct continuations or may just be reusing the character for a different scene. For March, I'm starting with 3 choices from more recent minis. The 4th option is there for those who'd rather see a new character.

• The "outdoors" shoot seems to have been almost an entirely bad experience. Despite getting to work with 2 models at the same time, things kinda fell apart quick. The cold weather was not cooperative and at one point my camera froze - (no pun intended, it locked up on me) I realize now that I've lost a big chunk of story/dialogue footage, and several other critical shots were screwed up from weather or because the lens had condensation on it... So, as promised, I've spent some time and effort deciding where to upgrade in the software department, and I've been doing a lot of learning. Current slate of software upgrades include:
