[366 Days of Monsters] Day 058/366 - Attack Salad

Most of the gnomes of the Wallingmiotta are vegetarians. Thus, a popular dish served by many of the gnomish families is a collection of garden vegetables called a "salad." Unfortunately, when you live in a magical forest, sometimes the greens you pick are tainted with magic. Often, this ambient magic results in nothing more than a slight magic aura. Other times, it might turn the eater a harmless shade of blue or green. But there are times when the salads themselves gain self-awareness and be...

What side trek would you like to see next?

Hey all!

I had fun writing the aboleth adventure. What other SRD monster would you like to see featured in a similarly sized module?

For the full list of SRD monsters, check out this list:

Thanks!

Might be a quiet weekend

Hey all!

Just thought I'd share with you that my wife is having some pretty major surgery tomorrow, so I might be quiet over the next few days. Although I'll be off work, I have no idea how much of my time will be spent helping her out once she recovers.

In the meantime I'll try to show up in the Discord and at least get the monsters out.

Also, I hope you enjoyed the short adventure I put out this morning. I hope to do a few more like these to pad the time between the larger...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 057/366 - Fuguhito

From the Depths rise the fuguhito. Land lovers call these spine-covered water breathers "pufferfolk", and as one might expect, the fuguhito looks like a humanoid pufferfish. Their needles are not just sharp but carry a powerful toxin capable of paralyzing foes.

Servants of Qhek. The marids of Qhek use the fuguhito as their frontline. And since fuguhito can exist out of water and are closer to human size than the sahuagin or merfolk, they make excellent sp...

[Side Trek] Those Who Writhe Below - Adventure for 12th-Level Characters

Aboleths are horrible, ancient aberrations rarely seen anywhere in Omeria. Only the most learned Dinzer mages know of their presence on the long continent, and even then, they keep silent about these unspeakable creatures. One of the ancient passages in Librex Malmütaronn suggests there may have been an aboleth in the Gar Warbrizz region seven-hundred years before the goblins claimed the territory. However, there has not yet been any evidence to support the claim.

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 056/366 - Sorcerer

As descendants of the dragonkin of Aegraya and the Great Chromatics of The Summer Land, sorcerers are creatures born with innate magical powers. Anthroposcopic features such as yellow eyes, scales, and sharp features often betray the sorcerer's origins. As such, those who are without an innate ability to obscure such features are often viewed as outcasts, just as if they were half-dragons or dragonborn.

Children of Tostrasz. Of all the Chromatic breeds who mixe...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 055/366 - Inak

The inak (EE nok) are an intelligent undead species that haunt the tunnels below the northern portion of the Basilisk's Spine Mountains. Superficially, they appear to be skeletons bound together by thick, boiled leather However, their skeletal structures consist
of more than just humanoid bones. Inaks build themselves out of any parts they have available. One inak may have the head of a ram with six long appendages while another may crawl like a scorpion and have a six-foot-long neck term...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 054/366 - Subterranean Drake

Another prolific offshoot of the Great Pressonian Chromatics, subterranean drakes (also called zogo-ba-inak by the Spine inak) are dragons that have adapted to life in the Low. In these labyrinthine tunnels, the drakes are safe; Omeria's spellcasters fear to enter their domain mostly due to the wild dokh nuzeghs who hunt within. Although vile towards those who dwell aboveground, the zogo-ba-inak share a somewhat symbiotic relationship with the other races of the Low, particularly the...

End of the Month Patreon Stretch Goal

Hey all!

February is almost over (already, can you believe it?) Right now we're at 828 awesome DMDave patrons. If we can hit 900 by the end of the month (which is next Saturday), that means I'll be creating the Omeria Primer.  This will be a downloadable, printable guide for you to quickly reference all the stuff you need to know about Omeria including races, subclasses, locations, important events, and more!

I'm pretty confident that we'll hit it since we hit last month's go...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 053/366 - Dokh Nuzegh

Dokh nuzegh (DOKE nu CHAY) roughly translates to "no magic dog" in Goblin. Certainly, the "no magic" part is accurate; Dokh nuzeghs possess a natural hatred of magic. In fact, their disdain for magic is so great, that the beasts will run at top speeds for dozens of miles without stopping to find and kill a magic-user. It's rare they will even eat the caster. Instead, dohk nuzeghs happy to maim, shred, and leave the creature for dead.

The "dog" part, however, is far from accurate. Dokh n...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 052/366 - Lantern Zombie

Xenem's greatest defense is the sheer uninhabitable nature of the volcanic ash and poisonous gas that surrounds the island. Of course, that hasn't deterred creatures from trying to storm its beaches in hopes to overthrow the Blood Lords and Emperor Xenem. Thus, the vampires rely on other defenses to protect their lands. Case in point: the Lantern Zombies of the Whistling Shores.

Creating a lantern zombie is a gruesome process. First, the necromancer must hollow out the zombie's skull, r...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 051/366 - Vadriken the Three Timer

Three hundred long years on Casar and oh how I loathe one creature so. Vadriken the Three-Timer, Warlock of Omeria, Fist of Brar'enaath, Eyes of T'qin, Touch of Ereyth—and countless other insipid monikers. I'd throw it all away just to rid the realms of the scum. Yet, he persists, like hot tar on bare skin.

The Three-Timer. Vadriken is a warlock of not one, not two, but three patrons. He draws power from the Maulfiend Brar'enaath, the first to succum...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 050/366 - Man and Boy

For twenty-five years, Man has lived on The Skeleton Key as a prisoner of the Serpent Whisperers. The warrior women used him as a zukterin, or breeder, to help propagate their race. He remembers very little before then, but he does remember the tunnels below the temple and the monsters that live there. The only other clue to his history was the large scar on the back of his neck.

One day an explosion erupted from the temple. When the dust settled, a boy emerged, his eyes aglow....

The Black Swamps of Barkor are home to more than just the vile creations of the danaavrakt. T'qin the Double Mantis, a creature of near-divine intelligence and wisdom, makes its home there. T'qin is a horse-sized praying mantis with two heads. Both heads share the same mind and T'qin sees itself as a single entity.

[New Subclass] Quick Poll... how should I torture Joe?

I'm going to be playing a character in my buddy's campaign. The character is Za Qin who I shared yesterday. Like Yoda, Qin will ride around on the back of a stronger character and frequently hit him with a stick. That character will be played by our friend, Joe, who is Lt Reverence in the chat.

But he can't pick a class. So let's help him! (I'm going for Barbarian)

Map of Northern and Central Omeria

Hey all,

I thought I might share this since some of you have asked. This is a map of most of the major locations mentioned in the Omeria content along with some new ones that we haven't visited yet.

If you have questions surrounding any of these spots, be sure to pop into the Discord where we have a #omeria-questions channel.

DMDave Makes a Character: Za Qin (Master Lao Shi)

One of my pals is starting up a campaign. On a whim, I decided to roll up a character. As an old school guy, I decided to do it iron man—3d6 straight down. I actually got pretty decent stats with the exception of Constitution.

From there, I came up with this character. And since I love making D&D stuff, I decided to format him, too, so you can add him to your campaigns (or play him).

Enjoy!

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 048/366 - Glossy

Glossies are horrible, fiendish oozes that lurk in the Black Swamps of Barkor. Another wicked invention of the danaavrakt, glossies were designed to destroy any who hope to cross through the swamps.

In many ways, a glossy is the danaavrakt's answer to succubi. Glossies scan the thoughts of their prey looking for its deepest desires. Then, the glossies use their shapechanging ability to take the form of those desires. However, the form is never perfect. Features like the eyes, curves, an...

[Call for Suggestions] New Silver+ Benefit - Omerian Lore

Labeled "Omerian Lore", these one-page PDFs will give insight to some of the questions you guys have about Omeria and the world of Casar. I hope to do one or two per week... maybe three. I'm pretty busy, so I don't want to promise too much until I get a feel for how well received it is.

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 047/366 - Entozooze

Terrifyingly fast and horrible to behold, entozoozes are 20-foot-long, formless tentacles of sweet-smelling sludge. These horrors slide through dungeons, caverns and other underground lairs feeling around for organic material to consume. Their protoplasm exudes a strange magic-dampening quality that disables the magical properties of magic weapons and armor. Dungeon lords find this particularly amusing as adventurers—having had their weapons coated in the pink residue—assume the weapon is...

[366 Days of Monsters] Day 046/366 Yazurian Cyclops

Yazur is a 900-square-mile island off the coast of Northern Omeria. For reasons unknown, magic does not work on the island. In fact, its antimagic aura extends up to 5 miles beyond its beaches. As such, ships rarely pass through the channel east of the island. Dinzer aircraft avoid the area at all costs. And for more than thirty years now Yazur has served as a prison for dangerous mages.

But the arcoprisoners of Yazur aren't alone. The one-eyed giants of Yazur act as sentries, guardians...
