Sorry for being quiet the last few days. Work plus bad weather plus BroadSword stuff has kept me busy.
Either way, I managed to come up with a nifty idea for variant races in Fifth Edition.
Here is the link with my notes: https://dmdave.com/race-variants/
And the PDF is below.
Enjoy!

Following Dyson Logos, he's been Twitch streaming his map making process and I thought that was a pretty rad use of Twitch.
When I'm doing work on stuff, would that be something you'd be interested in seeing, too?
I figure I could do it here.

Hey all!
Just letting you know why I've been quiet today. I live in Oklahoma and we're about to get thrashed with some huge tornadic storms. Plus, I've got a few big pieces I've been finishing up for my day job writing about Amazon.
Anyways, expect some cool stuff this week.
I'm trying to do more long form content now, so the stuff takes a bit longer to come out.

Hey! I got a pretty good response from the scalable monster series.
Which one would you like to see me do next?
Let me know in the comments.

Hey all!
As I'm doubling down on my Patreon efforts, I thought I might start getting some feedback from all of you.
Of everything I've posted in the last 7 days, what did you like best?

I'm a roll today. Decided to cook up scalable statistics for hobgoblins similar to the Martial Artist I did a while back.

I made this quick and dirty PDF for ZACS 5e today. On the plus side, it's way smaller than Homebrewery PDFs and easier to print.
Hope you enjoy!

Hey all,
Yesterday I did a thing. I turned ZACS 5e into a complete ruleset. Right now, it's just up on the blog, but I plan on sticking it into a PDF (it will be considered "premium") either tonight or tomorrow.
Let me know what you think.

Today, I had an idea re: the way monsters are made in Fifth Edition. Third had some pretty good rules for scaling monsters. But Fifth lacks those.
So I've recreated those rules and tested them out on the martial arts adept NPC from Volo's Guide to Monsters.
Basically, this creates 20 new monsters for you.
Let me know what you think!

Okay, so I've been chatting with folks on Discord and getting a feel for what people are interested in. I also realize that a lot of my colleagues that have success on Patreon (or at least seem to) focus on one particular niche.
Personally, I like making monsters. First, I can crank out a monster (or five) every day without breaking a sweat. That includes PDF formatting.
Second, DMs always need more monsters. And WotC has been a lot slower with the Monster books than they have in ...

Hey folks,
I know there's been a few changes since January. And my exit surveys--especially from long-time patrons--haven't always been, uh... "nice." LOL
The original concept for this Patreon was to 1) create requests and 2) put out PDFs of my content.
Unfortunately, #1 turned out to be very difficult, especially when I got hit with a ton of new Patrons at the end of January. When you have less than 30 patrons it's easy. With 100+ it's totally impossible.
#2 is good t...

Hey everyone,
This week, I'll be back at my day job, so I'll have some pretty big research projects I have to dig into. If you're interested in reading more of my non-D&D stuff, check me out at junglescout.com
Also, I'm blogging about my getting-in-shape plan over on Medium which I'll probably update tomorrow. You can read that over on Me...

Now that I've got a "format" that I enjoy, I've started hardcore drafting of BroadSword Magazine. The first (and biggest) chunk will be S&S which will include The Goblin Mine adventure as well as details on the Castle of Chaos base of operations.
Enjoy!

And since I write crazy fast, I put this introduction together right away.
Enjoy.

I had fun cooking up that 11-pageArchers book. It wasn't too long, I could work on it while focusing on other projects, and it seems to be fairly well received so far.
I've got two ideas kicking for the next one I want to work on.
Which one would you prefer to see first?
Both are separate mini-RPG rulesets, so not really D&D.

Native to the rolling hills and woods of Ysgard, the centaur-like bariaurs wander the lands in search of evil. When a vile foe is located, the bariaurs charge into glorious battle.
Personality: To those unfamiliar with them, bariaurs appear carefree or even irresponsible, but this behavior is merely the outward sign of their wanderlust. They rarely remain in one place for long, preferring a life of travel to sedentary existence. When evil rears its ugly h...

Hey everyone!
If you didn't already know, I'll be on a work retreat until May 2nd. I *try* to get work done during these retreats, but usually I end up so busy that I'm unable to do anything more than what's going on there. Plus, I'm a team leader during the retreat, which means I'll have to babysit seven other folks haha
Anyways, I'm going to try to crank out some fresh content over the next couple days. I've been reading up on the old planescape books for my high-level campaign,...
