Works In Progress

I'm Inking and colouring the Tomb Raider TF sequence I posted a while back! And my medieval fantasy epic is slowly taking shape. A comics historian I follow on twitter posted a stunning panel from an old Mickey Mouse comic that depicted a very striking green and purple stormy sky. I had to incorporate it into something and this was the ideal space for it! I'm really excited about how this page is turning out.

Cavegirl Origin Page 6

This page has been a real labour of love for me. I drew it about a year ago and I've been itching to ink and colour it ever since! There's direct homages to the work of Frank Cho and Gil Kane in the first two segments of the montage. As you can probably tell I'm a big fan of the whole 'Gorgeous Jungle Women and Dinosaurs' genre of comics and Cavegirl is a real tribute to all of that!

I'm working on the prequel page for the recent SH TF sequence after focusing on commissions for the last week. Page 2 of Limousine Love will be posted tomorrow!

Commission I'm Working On.

A little glimpse into my working process. This is a fantasy piece about a Queen who, besieged by an army of monsters, holds aloft her magic sword and-- we'll, I've a feeling you know the rest.

I don't often start with thumbnail sketches, but because I knew this page would be very detail heavy, I wanted to get all of my ducks in a row before I started drawing. There is nothing worse than doing a great illustration only to find that you just can't make it work in a comic strip narrative ...

I'm Inking up the prequel page to yesterday's She-Hulk office TF. I also started doodling a very cool Barbaria poster image. The alien warrior on a sky sled is something else that popped into my head which I might use for a future project.

Another thing I like to do with these sequences is illustrate with the text. By that I mean shifting between fonts and changing the style of the word balloons to indicate the transition from one persona to the other. I studied graphic design for me degree and I was atrocious at it, but a lot of the stuff I learned about the use of typography really stuck with me.
